I am mentally back on track.

This has been a good week for weight loss progress even though most of my food choices were a bit out of my control. This week I was at another conference where food was provided, and I made good choices about quantity and quality.

I'm all about tracking calories. It's the only thing that really makes me lose weight, and I tend to steer low-carb beause if I'm eating low-cal I need that fat and protein to keep me full.

This week I decided to try something a little different - the low-cal thing is great in concept, but I inevitably get REALLY HUNGRY after a few days and start eating a little more, and a little more, until eventually I'm off the wagon. So I've decided to rearrange my calorie allotment into 5 "low-cal" days and 2 "high-cal" days a week, keeping my total weekly allowance at a number that's an overall calorie deficit. So far, so good. I was happy to have a "high-cal" day to spend at a dinner party last night.

Onward and downward!
