Thank you so much for writing this! It's an exceptionally moving read and brought me close to tears as I identified so much of my own self-love lost or abused over the years. You nailed it there at the end with your grand discovery. Our bodies matter some but our true self and attributes are the gems that within us. Burn that rug!

It's wise of you to recognize that you shouldn't swap one type of food addiction for another. Your awareness of the potential and your openness with those around you will hopefully keep you from letting another type of food disorder take over. Great work!

Love your blog posts - I've struggled with my weight, eating healthy, working out - the majority of my life as well. Just wanted to let you know that I look forward to reading about your "journey" every week! Keep pushing forward!

Congratulations, Sylvia! It is a huge win for us women when we reach the realization we need to feed ourselves, listen to our biology and intuition, and not fall into the standard eat-less-move-more trap. You got there much sooner than most.

Wow inspiring! It takes so much courage and strength to not lash out and to be so forgiving towards others. And yourself because you know sometimes we beat ourselves up over not responding a certain way. Thanks for sharing!!

Good luck to you! Whenever anybody starts with "Don't take this the wrong way..." you know you will take it the wrong way. On the other hand sometimes bad things inspire us to do good things. My experience with dietbet is that the weekly weigh ins really helps my self-confidence. At first when I realized i had to lose 20 lbs after having a baby I thought how can I do it? That's too much. It will take forever. I can't not eat this or that. And then I started diet bet almost a month ago and just doing the weigh ins and seeing that I did lose 4 lbs already gave me enormous self-confidence and also got me to focus on the weekly goal with the big goal in the future.

Wow. Fantastic writer. I've read a couple of your posts. Thanks for addressing the complexities and inner conflicts involved in weight loss. I feel such conflicting drives within me; One side says, "I actually do want to lose weight, you know", and the other side says, "Losing weight is only for superficial, conventional people - I'm about more than my appearance - I should go eat something!" I think you do a great job of highlighting these conflicting pressures from within.
