Round Goals

The object of the game is to maintain your initial weight for 12 months, with a +2% allowance to allow for daily fluctuations (you can also lose up to 4%). To make that easier, we break the Maintainer into 12 rounds, each with its own pot, giving you regular accountability and incentives. That means if you stay within -4% to +2% of your weight all year, you can cash out 12 times!

Miss a goal for a round? Don’t worry—you can still win the next round and the Grand Prize at the end of Round 12. Half the bets are spread across the first 11 rounds, and the winners of Round 12 split the other half. The goal for each round is the same, though you MUST be between -4% and +5% of your initial weight by the end of Round 11 to be eligible to win the final pot. This is to prevent unsafe sprints at the end.

Rounds 1-10: between -4% and +2%

Round 11: between -4% and +2% to win; within -4% and +5% to qualify for Round 12 (MANDATORY)

Round 12: between -4% and +2% (MANDATORY)

How do we verify your weight?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

What that stinks I really like the accountability?!? Are they going to keep this one going until the last round?

Suzanne A.

As far as I know they will. I was told they may reintroduce the maintainer with some changes to make it more appealing.

This week is going good, workouts are on schedule but friends are in town so eating could be a little better.

Working out is not really and issue for me I do enjoy but eating well tends to be my downfall

Made it! Next time maybe I'll do it naked for more slack. I can't believe how much my bra weighs!

Can someone explain how the pot has dropped? I understand Dr notes for step bet but what are some reasons for it to drop in diet bet?

But basically, I believe it's $500 because there are 40 people who paid in full ahead and the others are billed after payout of the previous round so it takes a few days to come up to speed. We also tend to lose a few of the month-to-month group every month, so it probably won't end up at the same number as last month, but it shouldn't be too far off.

Todd W.

The charges for month to month go through on the 6th of the month. Look back after the 6th to see the full pot numbers for September.

The summer has brought me close to my upper limit, but at least I’m still under. The fall should have less eating out opportunities and more nights in the gym, so all will be good until the holidays come calling... I hope everyone else is staying in there too!

My exercise program is now back the way it should be, doing something 5 days a week. Before we moved I coached a running group and lead a treadmill class. In August I started working at Orange Theory Fitness 2 times a week, biking 1 day and running 2 days. Now down 2 lbs I don't expect to lose anymore since I'm sitting at 150.1 I could even gain the 2 lbs back as I build more muscle.
Eating healthy without cutting out any of the macronutrients provides me with an enjoyable way of eating. I try to follow the 80/20 rule, being good 80%of the time because you can't cut out foods that you really enjoy indefinitely.
I have for for 38 years measured my food so I'm a proponent for portion control.

Was over my max briefly this summer. Joined a kickstarter and was down. I’m back up a few pounds but still under my max this month.

Just finished reading Food Freedom Forever. Great book! I really want to find a “normal” that allows me to stay closer to the low end of my range without feeling like I’m draining my “willpower” storage all the time. I’m really going to work on that this month.

Highly Recommend that book to everyone!

Tropical Nomad

Looks like a great book! Even more enticing because it is currently $2.99 for Kindle.
