How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • When I'm drinking plenty of water my body just feels better! It affects so much more than we realize. Keep chugging away! Making this a life-long habit is so important in working towards your best health.

Our bodies are basically 60% water, found in our blood, tissues, and organs. It's a necessity for life! So, how do you make sure you're getting plenty of water every day?

Hi, my name is Janessa, and I’m 36 years old. At age 20, I reached my highest weight of 281 lbs. I ended up losing 145 lbs over the next couple of years. When I started working, I gained some weight and pretty much stayed around 165. When I was pregnant, I got up to 180, but was able to quickly get back to my usual weight. Unfortunately, staying home with my daughter really made my weight go up. Before I knew it, I was 185. Being that close to 200 really scared me because I promised myself I would never see that number again. I joined Dietbet and got back down to 135. I’ve pretty much maintained this weight for a year, but if I notice myself gaining a few pounds, I quickly join a kickstarter which is why I am here.

Hi, my name is Debbie. Live on the coast of NC. Going to be 51 and trying to lose all the menapause fat I've gained. I have a thing for sweets and late night eating. This is giving me quite a lot of motivation!!

Hi, my name as Tara! I joined this group because I have been on a journey myself the past 5 months to make sure I am in the best place I can be to take care of my family! The holidays threw me for a loop, but I am excited to jump back in and be motivated to keep working towards my goals!

Hey to Everybody! Susan here. I'm an active 56 year old that seems to have a tough time losing ten pounds that were gained by not being active. I'm a triathlete who broke her leg in 2017. No, no, don't feel sorry for me. I broke it while competitively cycling across Italy. If you're going to break a leg, that is the way to do it. It was an amazing trip. Leg is healed and it is time to hit the pavement again. I need to get back to my race weight. First event is in May and I would love to be 15 lbs lighter but giving myself a goal of ten. I'm a newbie to DietBet. (By the way my check in weight was just rejected, you need to show both feet in your picture, one half of my right foot was not in the picture. Sharing in case there are any other newbie's out here.) Anyway, this is exciting and I'm glad to be here. Jenn and Kandice, thanks for starting this up and encouraging us! I think this is just what I needed for my kick start.

Welcome Susan! We're so happy to have you here with us! Wow, you are one tough lady! It's so awesome that you compete in triathlons and that you cycled competitively across Italy! So sorry you broke your leg though! I'm happy to hear you're healed now and can get back at it! I wish you the best! You've got this! I hope you were able to get it all worked out with your weigh-in.

Wow Susan what an amazing feat you've overcome! I'd love to visit Italy just not on a bicycle! Way to be positive in a tough situation!

  • Hey guys, I love reading your posts! You're an amazing group of people! Thank you for introducing yourselves and for the motivation! Keep up with the comments and communication, that's what makes these games especially great! I'm excited for where this journey takes all of us! I wish you all the best! Just tackle your goals one day at a time, and celebrate every win, no matter how big or small! You've got this team!

Do you already have a habit of drinking plenty of water every day, or is it a struggle for you to get it in? Just like anything else, the more you do something, the easier it becomes to then incorporate it into your everyday life. This process is about building good habits, that not only last us through the game, but through the rest of our lives. How did everyone's first day go? What's your plan for day 2?
