  • WHO LISTENS TO PODCASTS?!?!

    So recently I've started dabbling in the world of podcasts. They are great to listen to when you are getting ready in the morning or on your drive to work. There's two in particular that I have listened to lately that I really enjoyed and really made an impact.

    1)
    *The 10 Pillars of Peak Mental Performance - By Muscle Intelligence
    .
    - This one talks about your state of mind to make a change and all the important "pillars" of how to achieve that goal. This can apply not only to health but also to many aspects of your life!

    2)
    *3 Steps to Speed up your Metabolism - By Mind Pump
    .
    - What I love about this one is how it talks about resistance training for fat loss. Did you know for every extra pound of muscle you build on your body, you will burn an additional 50calories a day at rest.
    That means if you put on 5 lbs of muscle you will burn an additional 250calories a day WITHOUT EVEN DOING ANYTHING.
    That is like doing 45 mins of steady state cardio!!
    - They used an analogy about opening your own business. Would you try and do everything yourself? Run the desk, clean the place, order the products, help all the customers, do all the accounting?
    Or would you hire employees to do some of those tasks?
    The same goes for weight loss. Would you rather do all the work yourself of expending energy by physical movement or would you rather build some muscle so your body does some of the work for you? This means you would be able to eat MORE FOOD but still be in a caloric deficit.
