How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I hope that you all had a great first week! I want to know how many of you tried winging it with your food this past week and if you had success doing that? See, it’s often hard to know if you are meeting, exceeding or falling below your necessary intake without tracking. I don’t believe in spending the rest of your life counting calories and macros but I do think that if you are a person that has struggled in the past to lose weight, this is an area that you should consider giving more attention to. Devote at least a week to measuring and entering data for everything that you eat. You could use MyFitnessPal or simply use a pen and paper. It’s not enough to simply set a goal to eat less. Eating less will backfire. Our bodies are highly adaptable and if you give it less food, it will just become more efficient at burning fewer calories to exist. We don’t want to become efficient at burning less fuel. We want to be calorie burning machines. If you start out with ingesting too few calories, your only options to continue to lose weight will be to eat less and less and exercise more and more. That’s a recipe for failure. Using the formula I provided, find your beginning calorie intake and then create a calorie deficit with a combination of exercise and about 200 – 300 less calories and you’ll be on your way. Tracking your food for at least a week can be a real eye opener and will serve you well moving forward.

Keep after it!!  Conquer each day, one at a time!

Using Myfitnesspal and it's so helpful. Tells me when to stop eating for the day! My calories on the app are different than what you suggested, so I'm kind of meeting in the middle.

Jenny K. You can manually adjust the fitness pal calories and macros under your settings. Even in the free version of the app.
