How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Hey I’m reaching out. I recently managed to lose a bit of weight I had put on largely due to stress/not able to focus on self when I realized my health (particularly my blood sugar/diabetes) was suffering. Without going into drama my life has been crisis/verge of crisis for several years now due largely to bad divorce/abusive ex, special needs parent, career/financial problems and chronic health conditions. I felt really good about it as my blood sugars improved greatly & I could see the difference too. However my anxiety/stress level is off the charts due to many things beyond my control and I am very much a sugar addict. I am struggling so much with trying to feel less like on the verge of a breakdown & more functional. I feel like I can’t think properly. I don’t expect miracles & maybe just knowing others get it will help but I’m open to suggestions ❤‍

First, thank you so much for sharing! I think the first step to lowering anxiety is to talk about it and this is definitely a place to do that. Also, if you want to reach out outside of the group, you’re welcome to email me at artchick500@gmail.com.

I’m going to tell you the following because I want you to know that I get it… I have severe gastric problems and food sensitivities. This limits what I can eat and is exacerbated by stress and anxiety. The last few months have been off the charts with good things and bad things, many of them stressful. This included both my kids getting sick, with my daughter’s somewhat bad case of Covid, turning into an even worse case of long Covid. My exhaustion and stress level got so bad that I wound up causing a gut episode while traveling that put me in emergency.
I do all the things a person is supposed to do to calm stress, but it hasn’t been enough and I have more travel coming up. For the first time I’ve decided that meditation and a healthy lifestyle simply isn’t enough and have started some anti-anxiety meds. Hopefully it keeps me out of the hospital on my next trip in 3 weeks :-)
Things to try if you’re not already:
-Breathing and/or guided meditation
-Exercise
-Skip the caffeine
-Breathe (did I say breathe already :-)
-make lists, prioritize, but remember you ultimately don’t have a lot of control, especially when other people are involved
-get enough sleep

I hope some of this helps. Keep me posted. And feel better!

Hi Vanessa. Thank you for sharing

I agree with everything Rhonda has said.

Taking care of ourselves is extremely hard work but doable. I find the group support to be wonderful. I track my food on MFP and when I am doing what I should to take care of myself , I stick to a 1500 calorie plan which works for me

So glad you are here
