How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

This one was way too close for comfort. I won with the smallest margin. I will be doing one more for this year to meet my target weight, but I might lose.

I had a weird experience with this Dietbet. I started Dietbetting in January. I won the first 6 easily by eating low carb and eating 1200 calories (short and very inactive). Then I lost three Dietbets right in a row. Wasn't going to do anymore Dietbets, but I couldn't resist and entered two more (this one and one other). Two and a half weeks into this Dietbet, I gave up. I hadn't lost much of anything, and the first week I actually gained. So I changed my calories on my Fitbit and myfitnesspal to lose 1 pound a week instead of the 2 pounds that I needed to win this Dietbet. And then the weight just flew off even though I was eating more. I don't understand how it happened, but I made my Dietbet without even trying! But this will be my last Dietbet (I'm only 7 pounds from my goal). Even though I've lost 3 of my bets, Dietbet has been a great tool in my weight loss! And I'm very happy that I won my last two Dietbets!

That's great! Sounds like your body needed fuel to burn fat. This is the case for most people and yet, people still starve to lose weight, when you don't even have to! Great job

Congrats to all the winners. I've been in a Diet Bet since September and have lost 90 pounds. I was using this round to maintain my last weight loss and it worked! I consider myself a winner!

I submitted my photo but the word "SUNNY" is basically impossible to read on the card with my crappy photography, so I think I will have to snap another picture tonight. Luckily it looks like I have some room to spare weight-wise.

Submitted my official weigh-out photos. Although I fluctuated a bit, I still came in below my goal weight, so I'm pretty happy. Now that I'm on a roll, I plan to continue with my healthy diet and exercise, but not worry so much about the weight loss.

Submitted my weigh-in and now I'm terrified to eat anything in case they don't like my analog scale. *sigh*

When my mom was being grumpy I'd secretly recalibrate the scale to tell her she'd lost a couple of lbs ;-) It would cheer her up - or make her laugh if she realized I'd done it.

Phew! After a nerve-wracking 2 hour wait (and a 3-mile walk just 'coz I was too wired to go back to sleep) - verified!
