  • So happy to have met the goal - and pressing on to the others ahead of me - I lost 10.4 pounds - the first ones are always the largest losses. I didn’t do my weigh in picture well so it’s a little hard to tell, but my clothes are telling me I was successful. 😊

  • Feeling so excited right now. My last few treadmill runs have not gone well. Even my elliptical session yesterday didn’t feel great. Don’t know if it was the luck of the Irish or what, but this race felt great from start to finish. It was my fastest 8k road race ever. Unless I can miraculously lose the last 2 nagging pounds that have been hanging on the past 2 weeks, I will not hit my goal for this challenge. It sucks, but I’ve still lost 4 lbs and I’m still going strong with my 1/2 marathon training. Good luck to everyone on this challenge!

  • Some runs just feel so right. Today was not one of those days. One thing I have learned as I get older is I know when I can push through and when I can’t. Today I just couldn’t find my rhythm and I felt off. After 2.5 miles, I slowed to a walk for a mile and then did intervals to finish my miles. Hopefully race day will go better on Sunday.

  • Let the crazy week begin. Spring sports officially kick off for our kids. My son is in baseball and one of my daughters is doing track/field. The triplets also are finishing up their last week of drivers training. My oldest is still doing PT for her shoulder (she had surgery Jan 31st to repair a torn labrum in her throwing shoulder). There will be lots of driving this week. But I got my 5 mile run in this morning. The time doesn’t seem to drag as much as it used to. Hoping my race this weekend goes well. Looking forward to seeing how well I can pace myself when I’m not on the treadmill.

  • I’m signed up to do an 8k race next Sunday so this weeks schedule had to be revised. Got my weight training in today and I’ll do a 5 mile run tomorrow. I’m still waiting for Mother Nature to figure out what season we are in. Woke up to it snowing this morning but it’s supposed to be in the 60’s by Tuesday

  • 9 mile training run is in the books. That last mile was a mental struggle, but I was able to power through with some good music. This is the farthest I have made it my training for a half marathon. The first year I started training, I made it to 8 miles before I was sidelined with an injury (the start of the persistent stress fracture). The next year I made it to 6 miles before I was sidelined and unable to compete in the race. So far I am still going strong. My legs are tired after the run, but no pain. Praying this trend continues as the mileage increases. 11 weeks until race day.

  • Yesterday was a rest day. Today I wanted to get something in today but didn’t want to over do it in anticipation of my long run tomorrow (9 miles). Did a hike in Switzerland on the treadmill. Had an egg white breakfast sandwich and some strawberries to start the day. Happy Friday everyone!!
