Today’s run: Another PB for 10miles! 1 hour 48minutes due in no small part to weight loss. It’s working! Next weekend it’s the Hampton Court half marathon.

Month 1 report:
In January I continued both my weight loss program (lost 9 pounds) and my gradual build up to my first half marathon of the year at Farnborough, UK on the 21st - in wet, windy sleet. I ran the HM in 2h24, the second best time I've ever done and since then I've run two 10 milers on subsequent Saturdays. The first a straightforward, undramatic 1h53 at a flat pace followed by yesterday's 1h50 - a Personal Best - with negative splits of 57m and 53m respectively.

The weight loss is aiding my running and the running is aiding my weight loss!! On now to February's HM at Hampton Court, the site of Henry VIII's palace, in two weeks!

Hi there! I'm new to DietBet and joined the Transformers for both motivation and accountability. I'm a mother of two little ones, 5 and 3 years old. I began running in 2005 and stopped running in 2011 when I got pregnant with my daughter. Started running again in 2013 and then got pregnant with my son. I have yo-yo dieted and started and stopped running so many times. I have signed up for the Hartford Marathon this October and am looking forward to actually nailing my goal of healthy eating, running consistently and rocking a full marathon (haven't run one in almost 7 years!). Onwards and upwards! :D

Hi I am new to DietBet, I joined for the motivation and accountability. I am also a runner, I ran NYC Marathon in 2015, got pregnant and had a baby in 2016 and have struggled since to get back to regular running. Now that my little is over a year, I am doing better at making time to run and plan to complete a full this year!

Hello! I just signed up for my first Transformer. I started running nearly 5 years ago at the end of a successful weight loss programme and largely I've kept the weight off. I put some back on again after running the London Marathon in 2016 (you can pretty much eat anything during 17 weeks of marathon training, but stopping afterward - that's difficult!) and I haven't managed to get back to my best weight since. So, in 2018, each month I'm going to run 100k and a half marathon. Thats twelve HMs in a year - a first for me. The first three are already booked in. I will only be able to really enjoy it if I shift a few pounds, which is why I'm here. Winning the Transformer will pay for a few entry fees too...

Hello. New around here. Joined a bet yesterday! I ran the NYC Marathon on Nov.5th! I always gain a bit at the end of a training cycle (~5lbs). Travelling to New Zealand for Christmas, so would like to lose 12ish pounds by then. Also have a few half marathons sprinkled in before my next full in May. I find the hardest challenge is limiting carbs while having enough to fuel long runs. Also the wine. THE WINE!! Anyway, happy to be here....
