How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

  • Happy Transformation Tuesday! We humans tend to hide the things we’re least proud of but there’s no way to hide our weight at public events. The pic on the left was taken at a work event 3 years ago. I gave a speech and my picture was in the paper. I remember cringing when I saw my picture; I was so embarrassed about my appearance. Earlier this month I found myself at another work event sharing the stage with Fox 4 KC morning anchor Mark Alford. Looking through pictures of the event I realized how much my wellness journey has transformed my mindset at public events. I am very much a work in progress and may not be at my goal yet but I am no longer letting my weight steal my joy and take my focus off the reason we gathered together - supporting behavioral health services in our community. The picture shows my physical transformation but my mental transformation has been the key to progress on my journey.

Birthday week means it's going to be harder to stay on track. I still deserve to treat myself every now and then. Let's hope for the best! Does anybody have any favorite "healthy" dessert receipes?! Please share!

It’s been awhile since I’ve made this but Pumpkin Bake is still my favorite low carb dessert. I had one serving tonight topped with some cinnamon-dusted whipped cream. Yum!!! I’ll link the recipe below. I followed it as written with two exceptions: 1) I substituted a mix of Stevia and Xylitol for the Splenda and 2) I baked it in a jumbo muffin tin because it makes 6 pretty and perfectly portioned desserts.

Get ready for the final weigh-in for Round 4! Once the round ends on Nov 16 at midnight PST, you have until 11:59PM PST on Nov 18 to submit your final weight for the round. Even if you're not a winner, please submit your weight and photos.

Once the weigh-in period begins, you will get a new weigh-in word when you visit the game. Submit early to make sure your photos are accepted, and don't eat that cupcake until you get an email that your photos are approved! (If you don't get one, check your spam folder.) You must have an approved weigh-in in order to be declared a winner for this round.

The round will finalize 24-36 hours after all weigh-ins have been submitted. Good luck!

  • Dinner and meal prep are complete. Snow is in the forecast so I decided soup sounded like a good plan. This is a new recipe recommended by a friend. It was so quick and simple to make and so yummy! Bacon Cheeseburger Soup. It is really, really good. Looking forward to having the leftovers for lunch this week. I followed the recipe linked below except I used 1 pound of 93/7 ground beef since that’s what I had. I plugged my ingredients into MyFitnessPal’s recipe builder with the following results per serving: 395 calories, 27 g protein and 5 total carbs (4 net).

  • Healthy product review: Viking Protein Waffles

    I tend to avoid buying packaged foods. For the most part I cook my own food from fresh ingredients from my local market but occasionally I like to try natural products I can use when I need a quick meal.

    I heard about Viking Waffles online and was impressed with the reviews I read so I decided to order some to check them out for myself. I was not disappointed!

    200 calories, 5 net carbs, 21 g protein for a large waffle. Made with all natural ingredients; the waffles need to be stored in the freezer unless you use them right away. I had one for breakfast this morning and enjoyed it very much. I like my waffles toasted; the pic looks a little dark but it tasted amazing! Tastes like a waffle, texture is a little more dense than a traditional Belgian waffle but not nearly as dense as other high protein baked goods I’ve tried. Best low carb waffle I’ve tried, hands down. And I t was super filling! I’ve seen people online use the waffle as bread replacement for sandwiches too so I can’t wait to experiment. I will definitely be ordering more. I love that 1 waffle gives me the same protein as 3 eggs, 2-3 servings of yogurt or a small chicken breast. I love eggs but I like to mix up my breakfasts every now and then. And I’m officially burned out on protein shakes. 😊
