For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

  • A bowl of chili is one of my favorite autumn meals but my regular recipe has more carbs than I want to eat at this stage of my weight loss journey. I stumbled on a recipe by @lowcarbyum an autumn-inspired slow cooker low carb turkey chili and it is delicious comfort food in a bowl. Yum! 1/8 of the recipe is 252 calories and has about 25 grams of protein and 9 net carbs.

  • Been going crazy with my eating for the last two weeks. Not cray cray, but I’ve deviated from my meal plan. Started meal prepping again this Monday and also started T25, a beach body program and an at home work out video. Since starting my medical internship, it’s been difficult keeping up with going to the gym. But I won’t use it as an excuse to slip back into old habits. I also remember how my body was when I completed the challenge the first time, and it’s awesome to realize that I’m even repeating the workout plan at a way lower weight than then. I’m so glad of my progress and I hope not to destroy it. After all, slow progress is still progress :)

  • #transformationtuesday - Transforming one’s physical appearance begins with transformation of the mind and spirit. One year ago I made a commitment to make spending more time with God each day a priority. At the time, as I reflected back on my college and grad school/seminary years, I remembered how much Bible reading plans had deepened my spiritual walk. I realized I had grown more distant in my relationship with Him, especially when life didn’t go the way I had planned after losing my fiancée suddenly in an accident. One year ago I decided to use the Discipleship Journal Reading Plan to spend intentional and extended time in God’s Word. Last night I completed the plan and reflected on the year I have had. There have been obvious specific changes (losing 135+ pounds, moving to a new city, starting a new job, etc) but my internal spiritual growth has truly been the foundation for everything else and gave me the strength to get through surgeries and some serious health scares. I am so thankful to be cancer free and feeling better than I have in many years. I am still very much a work in progress but know with peace in my soul that God is with me through every challenge, trial and celebration that lies ahead.

A full hour on the treadmill helped pick up my spirits today.
I keep telling myself that I want to do it every day...
but it's so hard to find the time and the motivation/energy to do it.

I was terminated from my job today because of my missed absences including staying home with sick kids and dealing with my Fibro and migraine pain. I’m trying to look at the positive and know that I can now focus on myself and not on work. I can’t let this defeat me. I am such a perfectionist and think of myself as a failure too often. I’m not doing that this time. I am going to make this my motivation.

I have a kidney stone and am retaining water like crazy as a result, I know the scale is lying to me, but it’s tough...so I’m breaking up with the scale for at least a week!
