  • My yummy three course lunch. Kaleslaw with feta. Eggs with hummus. And pineapple and kiwi with homemade soy yoghurt. I am trying not to snack, and to eat three larger healthy meals a day.

So my biggest craving is for a mocha frap- and last night i was working til 4am and was up again to go to work at 8am. I know lack of sleep and the sugary coffee is terrible and has been the cause of my weight gain before. But is there any good caffeine substitutes you guys like that doesn't throw you off your diets? I just need something for the drive home from work- I don't like the taste of straight coffee and warm beverages make me sleepy lol.

Premier protein and muscle milk make a coffee flavor that is pretty dang good in a pinch. Plus side is you can grab a pack to keep in ya car or at work!

Super embarrassing that I don’t know this but can someone please explain the basic biology of why women gain ~5lbs on our periods? And how soon before it that you see the change on the scale?

There a bunch of different reasons. If you Google it, I’m sure you’ll find a bunch of info  Water retention, hormonal changes, constipation, cravings, etc.

It’s such a pain, right?! My hormonal bloat is usually gone about midway through my period.

  • I feel alive and am proud of myself almost daily! I completed the couch to 5k program but already started over to improve my form and speed (I dream of the day I can complete a 12 minute mile!). I'm not really losing weight yet but it's mostly due to me not learning food yet- I'm focusing on one good meal/decision at a time. It's about progress, not perfection.

That’s awesome! I’m sure if you aren’t losing weight it’s still definitely redistributing itself

How many steps a day do most of you shoot for?

10k minimum too, but when I first started, I was happy with anything over 5k! ((I was very sedentary and only hit 3k a day normally))

Britt - KetoMaven

10K - right now for me 2k steps= 1 mile = 20 minutes.

  • I was obsessed with lunchables as a child and I think it shows. This is typically my lunch for work, but I change up the veggies and meat. I love it and it’s pretty easy since the meat, cheese, hummus (and I usually have a hard boiled egg as a snack) can just sit tight at work and I don’t end up packing everything every day - mainly just bring new veggies! I also snack constantly so this works out well. What is everyone’s go-to lunch?

I’m very similar! On a Reddit thread I follow they refer to this as Snuch (snack lunch). Snunches forever!! :joy:
