  • LATE NIGHT SNACKING. Who else struggles with this?

    I do great allllll day and then the kids go to bed…..and all I wanna do is raid my pantry lol. I’m going to give you a few tips that helped me with this because I KNOW I’m not alone!

    1.) Get rid of temptations in the home. Now I know this isn’t 100% realistic for a lot of you who have kids and husbands that have snacks in the home. But if you can, get rid / stop buying things that you know you can’t control yourself with. I have my own little bin of snacks (one bin for sweet and one for salty 😂) right at eye level so it keeps me from rummaging around in my son/husbands snacks. A few of those things include:

    -Pre portioned bags of popcorn
    -Pre portioned WW snacks (iced cinnamon puffs and the chocolate marshmallow ones, chocolate caramel bars, veggie straws are some of my favs)
    -Pre portioned bags of pirates booty puffs
    -AlaniNu protein bars
    -Healthy eating on the go bars
    -Pop chips (BBQ and sour cream cheddar are my favs)


    2.) If you find you are genuinely STARVING at the end of the night, try adding more protein during the day and make sure you’re eating all your daily meals. The worst thing you can do for yourself is not eat all day and then by the end of the night all you want to do is stuff your face! Keep it balanced! Maybe instead of a little bag of chips for a snack, grab a greek yogurt with some reddiwhip or some cottage cheese and fruit. Something more filling to keep you satisfied and less likely to keep grabbing snacks that aren’t satisfying your hunger.

    3.) If you find you are very snacky but you aren’t actually HUNGRY…this is when I usually grab my water, go brush my teeth, and get into bed. Brushing my teeth keeps me from that unnecessary snacking when I know I’m not really hungry!
