How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Hey all. I'm really sorry, but I need to vent. Last night, I was at my parents house & my Mom & I were discussing someone we know who had weight loss surgery. My mom didn't know she'd had the surgery, but I follow her on Instagram so I was telling her what she had to do before, etc. and it was just a friendly discussion. My mom began praising her, which is awesome (I was too) for all the work she's put in because this girl is very proud. Out of now where my mom says, "YOU could get that surgery!!" I've been on ups and downs since losing a large amount of weight, but this kind of hurt my feelings. I don't have any problem with having weight loss surgery and it's a great option, but I've been losing the weight steadily on my own & I am working on my binge eating. It was just just like an oh damn, okay, so what I'm doing still isn't good enough....

You are learning how to self-manage your needs... that's the most powerful thing you can do. Sure, an invasive surgery can speed the process up, but it does not teach you how to control your habits, it forces you to. Keep going ahead with a high head. You deserve it.

Vegan Dad

People think that surgery is the easy way out, but it's not. Not at all. If you can do it on your own, and I know you can that is way better.

For the first time in my adult life (I'm 32), I weighed in at the 130s. 139.6 to be exact! I stepped on and off the scale to make sure I was read it correctly. I'm still in shock. I never thought I would see that number on the scale.

I am so close to my 140s... not seen those in a while either. I will keep working and join you in the 130s :)

Vegan Dad

Congrats! Such an amazing feeling!

I met my goal for this transformer… now I really have to stay on track. There’re only 15lbs until my ultimate goal, the weight I was 5 years ago. It seems more possible now than back in June.

Dude! This puts you in the rock star category of DB weight loss if there were such a thing. Brilliant work! Can you say a little about what you did to get to this point?

Alice B.

I started keto a month ago while working with a nutritionist... which means that I don't eat bacon, massive amounts of cheese, or anything like that. 125g protein with 250g of leafy, high fiber veggies (almost all green... because it happens they have less carbs/sugar) seasoned with 2tbs of extra virgin olive oil. I snack on almonds/nuts and have breakfasts based on alternating egg, yogurt, nuts, and protein. I do mild exercise twice daily (long walk with the dogs and yoga). The loss is slowing down, but it definitely moved quickly in the first weeks.

9 minute video with several varied perspectives on food addiction.
I agree with this video, hearing the words resonate with me so much... with my journey.

Disney Mama

These videos always spark a fire under me but then, addictive nature always seems to win, ugh. I have never liked RAW veggies, would love to like them but can’t eat them unless cooked.

Vegan Dad

Disney Mama, that's the thing! The way things are set up we will lose. The key for me was not to eat "raw veggies", it was finding whole foods I liked. As apposed to hyper palatable processed foods. After that, I stopped eating those processed foods for weeks maybe months. My progress and my wife kept me on track. Those triggers are still inside me, so I do pay attention, but my tastes have changed and it's easier to get back whole foods after eating a processed foods

I hit 100% of my goal for this month at this week’s weigh in! I have never got my goal this early. I’m so excited, too because my birthday was last weekend and I took 2.5 days off from counting calories and went way, way over my daily goals. I think it actually helped in the long run because my body seemed to kind of reset!
