I hate how one day feels like it undoes all my work. On Easter I ate more than usual but not too much (according to my tracking about 400-500 cals over what I burned that day. I get it, I indulged, but 2200 net calories when I burn 1700-1800 on the average is not drastic), but the scale bumped up by several pounds. How is it that being in excess by 500 calories on one day adds literal pounds, but being in deficit by 200 a day for a week straight (-1400) maybe brings it down by .5 lbs and it takes a week to show up?! WTH? The math doesn't add up. It is so demotivating. Its times like this when I feel like giving up because it feels like a losing battle and the deck is stacked. I'm tracking, I'm getting my steps, I've added weight training, I'm watching macros, but if I can't have a piece of cake and an extra glass of wine on occasion what is the freaking point of "maintenance"? So frustrating. Needed to vent about it so thanks for giving me a space to scream into the void!

I feel this. I also allowed myself to enjoy Easter without worrying about tracking. But I got in my water. And I ran that morning. And I’m still (5 days later) seeing the scale up. I eat pretty well most days and work out daily. I try to remind myself the scale just shows one point in time and doesn’t define me. As long as I’m comfortable in my clothes and keep focusing on my health it’s okay. Definitely not easy since what I want is weight loss because I know I can do it, but keeping my eye on the big picture can help. Keep up the hard work
