How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

End-of-Year Accountability Challenge

Below is the latest in my weight loss story.
I encourage you to share some of your own. It feels more real to put it out into the world.

**********

My new goal. This is me being accountable.
The doctor who most closely works with me on my weight, digestive, and insulin resistance issues is my gastroenterologist. I see him about every 6 months and last week was my check-in. As of that appointment I’d had 61 doses of Wegovy, a GLP-1, the only thing that has regulated my blood sugar (I was already hardcore almost no carb) and helped with weight loss. I’d previously lost about 25lbs, but was struggling just to stay in the 170 range. With the GLP-1, I’ve lost another 30-35lbs at a rate of .5lbs/week, average. (That’s right, half a pound a week. When I say this is about progress, I really mean it.) Anyway, we’ve agreed my new goal is 10 more pounds by June. And add back some of my lost muscle. Theoretically, that will be it, though in reality we’ll reassess in the spring.
Because GLP-1s wreak havoc on your digestive system, I have to be off them to see where digestive problems end up. Dr. says we can look at treating them again “when the dust settles”. Things could be very different after 2 years on Wegovy and 70lbs of weight loss. In case you haven’t done the math, my new goal is 133-135.

Susan-Yoyoing is one of the biggest issues I see on people’s profiles. We all fluctuate, so I think the trick is to stay mindful even when the scale goes up a bit. And accept progress even when it’s really slow :-)

SB-Ugh, sorry to hear about the medical issues. I hope you can make progress while being kind and patient with yourself!
