  • This is my 4th month in a row doing dietbet and im down to the last 15-20 pounds and opted for this transformer because the closer I get to my goal weight the harder it is for the weight to come off. Anyway, 180 to 154 since beginning of March! Let's do this ya'll! 🙌

Awesome job. You got this!

Thank you all!

@Jenna B counting calories and accepting that it takes time. True weight loss takes time because it ultimately boils down to a sustained caloric deficit. It takes a deficit of about 3000 calories to get rid of one pound of fat. So if you are 500 under your reccommended daily calories it will take 6 days to lose one pound. It may not seem like a lot but it adds up (see example photo above lol)
Ive attempted to lose weight a few times and always started to get discouraged after losing a few and around 3 weeks i would just lose focus and eventually give up. This time I pushed past that and boom! Its been three months and it feels like it flew by.

The app called Noom really helped educate me. I had a decent grasp on nutrition and exercise but it put it all in one place along with a calorie counter and support in the form of a health coach and a community of others using the app. It does cost but there's a two week trial you can do to check it out and see if it's a good fit.

I have a question regarding how to count your cumulative weight loss. When it says cumulative does it mean cumulative to your starting weight loss or cumulative to your last weigh in amount? Can someone please help me to understand this better so that I do it correctly. Thank you!

Yup. Sherri is right. It’s all according to your starting weight. The goals don’t change based on your weight loss!

Ok thank you ladies!

  • Hi! This is my second...maybe third attempt at a Dietbet challenge.
Between 2008-2013, I had lost 70 pounds and was running half marathons and finished a full marathon! Everything seemed to be going great, but then I started feeling different. Little by little, I began losing motivation, stress eating, and becoming withdrawn. In the span of one year, I, not only gained back the 70 pounds, but also added 20 more. As much as I tried, I would lose some weight and then gain it all back. I couldn’t figure out what was happening until late 2018. My work environment had become so toxic, that I was ready to end my life. Luckily, a good friend of mine could see how bad it had become and I went to my doctor. He told me...not seek psychiatric help immediately! I was diagnosed with severe major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and avoidance personally disorder. As hard as it was to learn this, it also gave me a lot of answers. After 4 months of out-patient therapy, I regained my life back and found a new sense of hope and learn to live a life for me. Oh...back to the weight. Currently, I weigh 260 pounds and with focus and determination, I know I can achieve my goals and begin to see myself in a whole new light.

We're all here for you!!!

Thank you for sharing your story. So glad you are taking care of you, learning to love and accept yourself. Let’s look at this weight loss journey instead as a life gain story, nourishing our body with healthy foods, allowing an occasional indulgence when its really worth it, getting enough sleep, moving daily (even a 10 min walk), and writing down 3 things we are grateful for everyday.

I just realized I’m challenging myself big time with this one. I leave for a cruise on November 22 and return home the day before weigh in. I always enjoy my vacations and don’t restrict myself from enjoying extra treats so to beat this challenge I have to loose enough to make up for the extra weight gain for my November trip 😬

I totally got this lol

I leave for a cruise in December and I already bought the slimmer clothes that I plan on wearing on that cruise. I was on a DietBet on my last cruise and was totally able to lose weight. The goal was not to worry about counting calories per se, but NOT budging from my no bread, rice, or grains rule (since there generally aren't that many whole grain and healthy options) and getting in exercise at least 2x/day (when if it was just walking!). I was able to still lose 1 lb. So indeed, you CAN do it!

Hi everyone! Just finishing up a Kickstarter game and it really helped to jumpstart me, can't wait to continue on this transformer as I have even more to lose. I recently lost my husband about 7 months ago and just trying to get healthy for myself and accountable now that I'm on my own. Excited, let's go!!

Hello everyone. I’m going to try something different with this DietBet and participate more. I’ve gained a lot of weight over the past couple months and have been really down on myself. I want to be more healthy and happier. Good to meet everyone.

Hey guys! I’ve begun to plan for my wedding in a little over a year, so I decided to get serious and join this transformer! Good luck to everyone! I’ve got quite a bit to lose, but I’m excited to have this long term motivation!

I have been working since January on my whole self, moving 5-6 times a week, really digging in to discover why I eat when I’m not hungry, working to eat only until satisfied and not stuffed, and choosing those foods for optimum health!! I am down 11 lbs and have 29 to go. I figure now is the best time to bet on myself!!!

Congrats! I’ve been on this journey for 2 weeks now, and have lost about 3 pounds. It’s hard to resist bingeing on junk in such a difficult time!

I love your last line! Way to go girl!
