Went out lastnight, got silly definitely ate and drank carbs..at one point started to get down on myself about getting on the scale today BUT realized this is all what moderation is about. I started thinking of all the times that was my every night and suddenly didn't feel so bad

Got my 6k steps in before breakfast, then did a volunteer shift at a food bank distribution event this afternoon. Ended up with 12k steps for the day, and kept my food within my calorie goals (even with the cookie I ate at the event). 👍🎉

  • Do you agree with this weight loss tip?

    Don’t exercise when you start a diet.

    The idea is twofold:

    1. Cutting calories can cause fatigue and you may be too tired to workout. Which can also lead to giving up altogether.

    2. At the beginning of your weight loss plan, you should focus on your diet because it matters more. Putting all your energy into healthy eating, you set yourself up for quicker results and staying motivated longer.

    What do you think?

    I can definitely see a point here. Focusing your energy on healthy eating while doing a smaller increase in your general activity rather than hard-core workouts does seem like a great way to start.

I did the opposite. I started a stable exercise routine that I enjoyed and then started focusing on what I was eating afterwards. But one of my main goals is to get my body into shape and not just general weight loss.

I am interested to hear about your successes and challenges with it. I currently use a VERY old WW formula to track (the first version that had Flex Points). The "free foods" kinda scared me away, but I know one of the plans now doesn't use the free foods. My problem has always been portion. If chicken breast is free, I can eat 3 ...

WW really is a great longterm very sustainable plan for life!!! Way to go!! I've known tons of people who had longterm success on it, lost their weight, and rarely gained it just applying the system. One thing tho, keep up with meetings even once in awhile after u hit ur goal, the people who kept up on the meetings at least 1x a month or 1x every 2 months for the first few years for maintenance, would be the ones keeping it off. After awhile they truly didn't need it anymore and their new life was is in full swing and they were fine without them at that point . I think it's just that refresher support system is why after that first year of hitting ur goal. Anyway Wise choice!

I remember when I lived there and my sister came to visit, she wanted to see Ranier, and she asked where it was. I gestured vaguely to the horizon and said, "That way. You can either see it or you can't, there is no middle." I miss the weather!!! But I love midwestern fall, so trade-offs!!
