C25K has tricked me!! First 4 weeks, 3 identical workouts each. Week 5, and I'm not sure I'm ready for 3x 5 min runs (breaks between). So Sunday, I give it a whirl, what's the worst? I walk a little? It wasn't too bad, I managed to run all 15 minutes. Yay!!

....today I did week 5 workout 2. I'm running thinking "Dang! I must be going fast! I've covered a lot of ground." Then, because I'm really tired, "This can't be right, did I miss the lady telling me to walk?" I check the phone, 1 min left of running....okaaay. during the walk she says "Halfway there." And I'm more confused. So I just stop the workout and go to the details. It's 2x 8 min runs. 😮 So I ran 8 minutes!! Since I had exited the workout, I just put a timer on my phone and ran another 8 mins.

But now I don't trust this C25K lady 😆😆. For week 5 workout 3, she wants me to run 20 minutes.....😆😆😆😆 That is quite the bump (Vicky H you were so right about week 5!).

I loathe running, and can speak from experience using a couch to 10k app, once you can run 5 without stopping you can run pretty much anything without stopping. It's so much about controlling your breathing because after a couple minutes the intense muscle burn magically subsides, lol!

Ahhhh it’s mad isn’t it!!! I’ve done the first two, and I was psyching myself up for the big 20 min run and then…. COVID!!! I’ve managed to go two years without it and just as I’m getting fit it has snuck up!

So let me know how you get on! (Also week 6 looks much kinder!!)

I don’t think I’m going to win Round 2. I did win Round 1. Good luck to all of you . But I have lost weight, feel better, andclothes are looser-I will take those as a victory . And I will keep striving and moving forward

I am in two DietBet’s right now that both end in the next couple of days. I think I will make this one but not so sure about the other one. I don’t like losing but I am also looking at the positive that if I’m close it must mean progress! We’ll get it next month!

I think round 2 is the hardest too, 6% in 2 months is tough going. I’m still 1.5lb away so if I make it it won’t be until the second day but it’ll be a close one whether I do or not. But as long as we aren’t giving up we’re making progress

Monday check-in! Still 2 lbs away from my goal this month. Thursday, we head out on a long weekend trip to New Orleans. I *hope* to be able to hit my weight that morning, but it's looking slim.

For the C25K, I did my workout yesterday, but I'm not sure when I will get the other two in, it's a busy time at work (fiscal year end inventory audit), then the road trip.

I’m 2 lbs away, as well, and have been on point eating and exercising so I think I’m retaining water/inflammation. Going to be an intense week of drinking water and exercising. Enjoy your trip!!

  • I totally fell apart the past week and a half. Up 3 pounds. Super frustrating bc I was on track to easily make this months goal. But we had house guests for a few days and then we were house guests for a weekend and we ate out for everything and I stopped exercising. Sigh. Hoping I can give this my absolute all for what’s left and squeak in under goal. Did well today with food and hopped on the treadmill for the first time in forever since my son’s soccer practices are over and I lost those easy opportunity workouts. But I jogged hard lol! Here’s to having another good day tomorrow! How is everyone else doing?

Remember to drink a lot of water too! When I end up eating not-the-best choices, drinking a lot of water over the next few days seems to help me shed any bloat from salt (which is usually a big part of my not-the-best choices).

Yes 100% on the water. I have been chugging like crazy and it’s definitely helping. Spent yesterday sweating my butt off working in the garden and about to do the same today so that’s helping too lol.

I won a mandolin a few years ago. It was nice, but it wasn't some cool expensive gadget. I could get it on Amazon for $25. But hey, I'm a winner just getting my weight under control.

  • Didn't get around to posting on Monday, my husband and I went camping. We tried out this cute little trailer to see if it's something we would want to upgrade to (we typically tent camp).

    Needless to say, my weight was up on Monday after the camping trip, but I've dropped a bit of it back off already. I am down almost 9 lbs since the start, but need to lose 2.7 lbs more for this months weigh in.

    C25K update, I finished week 4 this morning. Thinking about repeating this week though. It is the first week where I felt it didn't get easier by the 3rd workout. This week was 3 min run, 90 sec walk, 5 min run, 90 sec walk, repeated 2x. Those 5 mins were tough!! And, my neighborhood has too many "hills"!

Myami, tip for the air mattress, bring an extra blanket, fleece is a great option, and put it UNDER the sheet on the mattress. Game changing.

My weight went up a little bit the past couple weeks and now it’s slowly getting back down. I have about 2.5 pounds to lose before the next weigh in and less than 10 days. Im going to have to really focus. My go to sweet snack which is curbing my late night sweet tooth is rice cakes with mini marshmallows and mini choco chips on top. What are your favorite sweet diet snacks?

Week 3 of C25K done! Today's was a doozy. Our AC stopped working in the house last night...it never got below 80. When my alarm went off this morning I REALLY wanted to ignore it. But, it was the same temp inside as out (80 at 6am) so I figured I just as well put the time to use. Luckily we get a bit of a cool down this weekend before it heats back up in the upper 90s next week.

Monday update! The scale wasn't so kind this week, up a little over a pound. I was over calories again so....yeah, I need to rein that in this week.

Started week 3 of C25K. The 3 minute runs were hard, but I did them both!! Woot woot!! 🎉 Going to do another workout tomorrow and probably Thursday. The weather though!! It is supposed to be 78 already at 7am, so it's going to be a sweaty one.

I don't know how you do a C25K especially in hot weather, when I can barely last 30 minutes on a step machine in a weather controlled climate. (Planet Fitness lol. )I'm rooting for you, you'll knock off that 1lb and more in no time.

@ Gia Nettie - yes, that 1lb will come back off!! The workout this week is 28 minutes. On Tuesday, I drank half a liter of water while I was stretching afterward. :laughing: Maybe I need to time my weigh in after a sweaty wotkout day, before I drink anything lol. 30 mins on a stepper is no joke! My quads and hamstrings aren't interested!! Haha
