  • I was just looking back at my older videos. I think my face is definitely changing. Not only a little smaller, but happier. I was going through a mental rough patch in the beginning. I feel so much better now.

First month done! I lost 9 kg (20 lbs) Anyone feeling a little burnt out? I’ve stuck to my plan pretty rigorously and only deviated once.. it’s strange.. it don’t feel like I’m necessarily craving to get off my meal plan or even binge, it’s more mental? I miss the dopamine all the processed food used to give me haha… but I’m also just so sick of being this heavy and just want to be at a healthy weight now.. knowing I have such a long way to go sometimes makes it seem insurmountable..

btw, I’m curious are there any other people here from europe? I’m from Sweden/Finland🇸🇪🇫🇮

  • Day 12: I managed to have a "perfect" day with my goals. I completed all 10. The snow tried to keep me from the gym but I made it there and back with a few little skids.

    ???????-----------------------???????
    Today's healthy habits:
    *Went to the gym
    *Tracked food
    *Stayed on calorie target
    *Ate a good breakfast
    *Journaled my gratitude
*Checked in with my DietBet group
*Cleaned up the rest of the Xmas stuff

One of the commitments I made upon deciding to return to Dietbet was to check in every day, or at least as close to it as possible.

Tomorrow, I'm beginning a couple of different adjustments to my diet, both of which I plan to continue for the month. The first os to give up caffeine, so see how it impacts my sleep. The second is processed sugar because I have enormous difficulty moderating my intake. I've given up sugar multiple times in the past, but have always been drawn back in. For this reason, I'm only focused on the month of January, as a means to kickstart my weight loss journey.

For me it was giving up sugar too that helped best! The way I did it was trying to eliminate the sugar in processed food. So getting rid of the sugar where it didn't belong anyway. I made a cereal bar where I made my own Muesli, not the store-bought kind with lots of sugar. Replaced milk that naturally contains sugar with oatmilk without sugar. Replaced white rice and wheat that creates sugar in the body with healthier alternatives that don't let your blood sugar spike as much. What this did is that when THEN I craved a piece of cake once a week, I could indulge in it, because it wasn't building on tons of passive sugar intake already. That's worked great for me so far - I've lost 30kg this way without any other further restrictions to my diet but simply counting calories on my yazio app and getting my 10k steps in every day. Maybe that method helps you too, and I wish you all the luck!

I'm not so bad with hidden sugars. I drink unsweetened plant milk, use natural peanut butter, rarely buy processed foods, etc. My weakness lies in truly sweet foods, especially baked goods. Once I start, it is very difficult to stop. I would probably say the best path for me is 0% sweets, but while I have been on that path several times, I have yet to stay on it.
