I am committed to my intermittent fasting plan 18:6 but I also know that I am allowed to treat myself with “rewards“ and still feel great about the overall journey

After Spring Break in Chicago, I’m not sure I’ll be able to swing this weigh-in without drastic measures and honestly Im just exhausted so I have accepted the fact that I’ll more than likely not hit my goal by weigh in but will keep my focus to finish strong ❤

That's perfectly fine! We're all in this for the long haul, and one missed goal doesn't mean you won't win the game.

Never won. Been around for years.

I've never been a member, but I did play a double your winnings kickstarter and I was one of 5 people that won, the points were in my account instantly when the announcement was made

  • I love this quote because it’s such a good reminder to just jump right in! Even when we feel like we don’t have all the answers. Getting started and learning is the only way we’re going to get there.

So, if you’ve thought about trying a new workout, but are worried you won’t “get it.” Or, if you’ve been curious about Keto or Intermittent Fasting but feel like it’s too much information to understand and you just don’t know enough about it. (Talking to myself here...) Whatever it is, this is your push to just go for it. Get started and start learning. Then, make changes as you know better and you’ll be a heck of a lot farther than waiting around until you’re “ready.”

Have you found this to be true? Is there anything you’ve been putting off because you don’t feel ready?

I think context really matters here. There are some things that can be jumped into with little risk and other things that should be explored with more care and forethought.

Not really understanding how things work is one of the reasons so many people either pick up unsustainable habits (in our context, things like very low calorie diets + vigorous exercise) or decide that "diet and exercise don't work" because they did jump in, did everything wrong (inaccurate tracking of calories, wildly over-estimated calorie burns for exercise, fad diets, etc.) and didn't *understand* that THEY were doing it wrong, so they blamed diet and exercise entirely.

And then there's injury. Someone who decides to lift as heavy as they can despite never having lifted and only getting the guidance of a video of dubious quality is just asking for a muscle, joint, or tendon injury.

Yes, decision paralysis and plain old nerves can keep someone from starting something good, but they can also give someone enough time to pause before signing up for a 5k next weekend when they haven't even taken a walk around the block and decide that maybe, just maybe, a C25K program might be a little more wise.

I love this, especially since I’ve been trying to lose weight ever since baby #1, over 37 years ago. I would try everything and it wouldn’t work long enough to get me to goal. I just would do the best I could then give up. This time I’m back to basics and I know better, so I’m doing better.

I’m glad that the first 2 months had larger goals than this month. I feel like I’ve slowed down weight loss % quite significantly this month 😭. Still 1.5 lbs away from goal but continuing to March on

Saaaaaaaame! I made the first two rounds but not thinking I’m going to make this round. But I think I can pull it together again for 5/1 weigh in if I don’t make 4/1! I haven’t lost anything since my last round weigh in, gotta break my plateau.

  • Did you know that March is Frozen Foods Month!?

This was apparently started by Swanson with the idea of frozen dinners, but we can take this so many ways!

A couple ways to be inspired by Frozen Food Month:

** Take some time to dig deep and cleanout your freezer. Toss what needs it, cook up some of those frozen veggies, and save some money by using what you have.

** Make a bit extra of a favorite healthy meal and portion out meals for later. Put one or two in the fridge for lunches and a couple in the freezer for a healthy option anytime.

** Save your veggie scraps and keep a bag in the freezer. When it's full make some delicious homemade vegetable stock or use some bones to make chicken or beef stock.

👍 Give this a like if you've done any of these or let us know if you're feeling inspired.

Share your own tips for using your freezer! Or share your favorite healthy freezer foods to keep on hand!

I always save my veggie scraps, herbs that are ready to wilt and bones to make broth. So yummy, free and healthier than store bought!

I also like to double meals that freeze well, so I make one for now and one for a night that is crazy so we are less likely to eat takeout.

Mezzie

I always have frozen fruit and veggies, and I usually have frozen extra beans of some sort (right now, it's chili). Sometimes I have some frozen fish on hand, too.

The fruit I throw into my breakfast every morning; the rest is mostly there for emergencies when I can't get the grocery shopping done on time. There's no need to go grab something premade.

Hi! I always get the emails saying there was a drawing and people have won stuff. I’ve done ten of these Diet Bets and never won any of the drawings. Can you let me know if you have been a winner?

  • Plan tomorrow’s meal today.

Even if you’re not a hardcore meal planner, we can all agree that when we make better choice when we have a plan. I can personally attest to how much easier it is when I track my food the day before! It allows you to think about your day as a whole before you have to grab anything because you’re hungry.

Try writing down your meals and snacks for tomorrow now. Even a rough guideline will do. Let us know what you plan to eat, and come back and share if it helped you make better choices!

My husband hates fish so instead of NOT eat it, I'm gonna start having it on my own for lunch this week. I'm looking forward to meal planning

A friend inspired me to try Bollywood dance. And I am seeing great shifts both in my inches and mood! I have joined a 7 weeks Bollywood dance class, just to try something new.

I re- started today my exact meal planning for the next day. Just did it for tomorrow. This helps me to stay consistent. And I will do dinner- cancelling (in fact, it's intermittent fasting) again.
Both not really new but it's a restart after having been a little too 'relaxed' for some weeks.
Something really new, I'll start tomorrow is meditating with a meditation app. Today, I loaded it on my phone.
