You're doing a GREAT job, Leeann...35 lbs is equivalent to 140 Quarter Pounders!!! Not too shabby, huh?!? I found this statistic at ilostwhat.com. You should check it out...it's a wonderful motivator when you're trying to lose weight!!! Keep up the good work! :)

You show that scale who's boss! Ha. Seriously though, that's a major victory. I have a hard time not letting the scale dictate my mood or measure my success. That's why I try to stay off the thing! Muscling through when the scale isn't moving takes guts. You are strong! You have your eye on the real prize, which is not a number, but rather a feeling of health and an ability to go out there and grab hold of your life.

I call my scale the "friendly scale" when it reflects a positive number. I don't like it when it's unfriendly!!! I can certainly relate to how this inanimate object can make you feel IF you let it. Thanks for this insightful blog!!! I'll keep it in mind the next time my scale is unfriendly. ;)

Leeann I love your blog and you are so right. It's not fair but we are making a change for the better.I refuse to call it a diet because to me it feels like something taboo.I prefer to say its a lifestyle change.I wish you well on your journey to the new and improved Leeann!!

Chills down my spine! For me, it's the scare of impending health issues. I do NOT want to rely on tons of pills to keep me alive. That doesn't feel like really living to me. It requires not only a mind shift, but a schedule shift, a refrigerator shift, a wardrobe shift, and a shift of focus on ME for a change. That's one shifty life, man! I'm grateful for your journey, because it helped me start mine!
