  • My bike ride this afternoon turned into a bike accident. I’m in the hospital with a broken clavicle, four broken ribs (one in two places), a broken pelvis in two places, a bruised heart, and a partially collapsed lung. Other than that it was a great day for riding! Is there any way to withdraw from a this DietBet for medical reasons?

Hi Emma, if you aren't able to weigh in for Rounds 1-4, that's fine! You are able to miss those weigh in's and still continue on in the game.
If you don't want to miss a weigh in, you are able to weigh in on a different scale, if you need to borrow one or use a tester scale in a store, those are good options.
Alternately, you can reach out to support@waybetter.com and ask about an early way. We do have an option for a one time exception to weigh in up to 48 hours early but you do need to reach out for that.

Hi everyone! Back from some yo yo ing on my past few diet bets. I had been taking a week off between bets to give myself a break... But I tend to go nuts in between and gain a bunch of it back. Arg. Committed to doing better this time!

Also thinking about talking to my provider about wegovy. It's so pervasive on the news that I feel like I should at least ask... Especially since I qualify with some underlying health conditions. Hmmmmm. Anyone else taking it?

I read an article in the NYTimes about this class of drugs being the diet drug of the wealthy. But the downside was it made them look older! I’d be worried about long term effects, too. We just don’t have any experience with it and we need the science to have time to study it. It’s tempting for sure, but for me, I don’t want to be a Guinea pig! But I’m no doctor and that’s who you should be talking to! Good luck for our bet! We’ve got your back! You can do this!

I did take it before the shortage... for just one month! I lost 17 pounds in that one month. I think what's most important is that you stay mindful of nutrition once you come off of it. Six months after, I had only regained 5-6 pounds but again, that's with staying on track with a good eating plan, reduced carbs, limited/no added sugars. With any of these medications, it still requires good eating habits, lots of water, and some exercise. Even a 30-minute walk each day makes a difference!
