Hi! I’m Emily. I’d like to get to my pre-pregnancy weight by the end of this challenge. That’s roughly 176 lbs. This is also my birthday goal. After that I’d eventually like to get back to my pre-pandemic weight, which is a lot lower. I currently live in the Midwest.

I know psychology is a big thing when losing weight. We get down on ourselves and feel bad about ourselves because we are too heavy.

But please remember: the scale measures weight, not worth.

You are still worthy of respect, and, most importantly, of loving yourself. We're on this journey together, and the social aspect here has been really important to my success in the past. I hope everyone will make this a super supportive community for the next month. We are pilgrims on the journey to health together and what is too hard for one, two or three can do together. We've got this!

I’m working on the psychological aspect too, have you heard of HALT? When you’re hungry (H), reconsider if maybe you are angry (A), lonely (L), or tired (T). It takes a while to recognise the difference, if I reach for junk food I internally shout at myself HALT! And have a 2 minute breather to think about it properly. Can’t say it works every time, but changing habits is a long term thing I guess.

Hi Everyone! I'm Allan and I live in the Cleveland area. It turns out that I am a pretty good dieter, but a terrible non-dieter. In my approximately ten days off I put back on six pounds. Ice cream is not a good lunch, it turns out. Losing weight is hard, but losing the same pounds twice is really annoying! So, we carry on and do it again. I want to break through 220 this time as that is a psychological and physical set-point for me. I was there for a long time and came to accept it as okay, even though it's still not healthy. I'm starting at 230.6 and have to get to 221.4, but I really need to break that 220. I'm sure I can do it with your help! Let's all do this together! Great to know you all.
