In my lifetime I'd eventually like to achieve my weight loss goals and right now that means about a 40 pound loss overall. Not achievable in 1 month, but hoping it jumpstarts a renewed desire to succeed.

That's a good plan "will I feel like shit after I eat this?" I've cut a lot of things this past week and let me tell you, feel way better. It's not easy on the emotions though. In particular, giving up carbs/sugar will make you really cranky during the first 3 or so days. That detox is for real. Good lucky Brooke!

Awesome Brooke! I think drinking the right amount of water is under-estimated in how much it helps regulate our cravings. Something I'm personally working on too. Also, I just came across this weight loss/gratitude support journal that I am totally jones'en for! Maybe it would be a good motivator for you too! Check it out here: dailygreatness.co

I got the FitBit One. I think it works for me personally because it is a clip on rather than wriststrap (working in a hospital, we have a bare-below-the-elbows policy, and I think the movement of my torso is a better reflection of my whole-body activity than the movement of my wrist). It's really cool to set yourself goals, keep track of them, comparing what you did previous days and trying to hit your goals. I find it feakishly addictive, and it really does encourage me to get out for a walk, and even join a gym for the days when outside is not an option. Also, it's good to look back at days when you absolutely crushed your goals. It's just one of many tools out there to help keep your goal in the forefront of your mind.Best of luck, have fun :)
