Well I am not winning this round. Lots of stress this month and I lost my motivation/will power

I'm definitely not as motivated as I once was either! I've looked at the math of where I am and where I want to be, and I've mentally reset my personal goals.

Sure, I could aim to be on track to lose the full 9% for next round, but instead I've mentally set my goal to just 6.5%. I'll win less money, but I plan on still making progress towards my final goal of a healthier weight and body.

Mary S.

You’re not alone. My body decided this game was the perfect time to throw in cortisol spikes and hormone imbalances that come with peri menopause. I lost zero lbs this round.
The great news is we all still have time to catch up. You’ve got this!

I didn’t meet my goal this round, but still going strong and dedicated. Trying to throw in workouts now and focus on protein intake. Being prepared (meal prepping) is the hardest thing for me. That’s when I end up eating a PopTart at 1030 at night ??‍♀️

Jumping in a couple kickstarters at the same time to double down on this goal. I’m currently down 50 lbs but have another 135 to go. It’s been a long, slow journey but we can do this!!

You've got this Jesse! One good thing about being this old is that all the big snackers are out of the house and took their pop tarts with them, except hubby who thinks carrot sticks are a decadent snack. My evening snack lately is a little cocoa sirred into an 80 calorie vanilla yogurt, then dropped onto a plate in tablespoonfuls and frozen, or piped into kisses and frozen. I just have to remember to prep it early in the day.

Lisa P.

Sounds like you are doing great. I lost the last round too and like you I’m also doing a kickstarter for extra motivation.

I don’t meal prep (not keen on eating the same thing several times a week and I like to cook so enjoy freshly made meals). I don’t meal prep tent to keep Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs and fresh fruit in the fridge for when I really need a snack. I live alone, so no sugary snack are in the house which makes it easier.

I was below goal for round 1 but this round I lost momentum. I didn’t make the round 2 goal but I am not giving up! I need to get back to my round 1 routine including: meeting daily steps, no “bad” carbs, 1,000 calories daily deficit, and logging all food.

I might join a kickstarter for extra motivation.

Congratulations to all the round 2 winners. I plan to be back in the winners’ circle for round 3, 4, 5 and 6!

Congrats on showing up for yourself today!

I think joining a kickstarter is a great way to help nudge you in staying focused

Laurie K.

Same! I just joined a Kickstarter for this exact same reason! The holidays this year are going to be tough for me ?

1. I’m proud of making healthy options when I feel hangry e.g. choosing a banana as my first pick when I felt hangry after work.

That’s a huge accomplishment. I admit to giving in and making a bad choice (pizza) this week because I was too lazy to make dinner with the healthy food in my house.

I need to work on making healthy foods my go to at all times.

Sandra G.

Thats great Jay. Ive been doing the same by keeping clementine, apples and celery sticks available for those snacks moments :)

I was off to a great start but for over a week have not been rigid with my plan - and the scale shows it. I need to get motivated again and stay focused.

How is everyone else doing? Any tips?

I’ve been up and down but truly focused on health more than the scale

What helps me stay focused is focusing on things that bring me joy not just a distraction. For whatever reason distraction is never enough for me.

Additionally I’ll unplug. No tv no scrolling various apps.

Sometimes I try to go help someone else with something. That too keeps me in a healthy eating path. Don’t know the psychology behind it but it works for me.

Stuart H.

Good tips above. I too have lost focus this last week or so. Been busy - travelling / leisure, but it makes it harder for me to choose healthy options. Had a lovely time but dreading jumping on the scales now!!

I needed to see this today. I’ve been slacking on diet and an ankle injury has me not about to get in my steps. Refocusing and not giving up!

Good thing I worked on a buffer- scale was up 1.5lbs today! I still was under the goal but that was way too close! Going to work at a bigger buffer this month!

I don’t know why I would have water weight gain (I don’t have much sodium in my diet) but it magically disappeared today! Just glad I had that buffer or I would have panicked yesterday and likely fasted to make weigh in today.

I have two kickstarters ending Monday so not easing up!

Susie R.

It’s not always about salt. Typically jumping up or down quickly typically isn’t about fat or muscle.

Nonetheless you made it! I know you are motivated

Looks like I’ll hit my goal. Was concerned. Was extra good about not eating when i wasn’t hungry. But mostly due to being sick the last two days. Missed out on whale watching with coworkers today.

Now to sleep and try to get better.

Who else is going to be weighing in first thing in the morning before eating a single bite of food to hit their goal ? I’m going to be too scared to eat before.

I do the same as well.

I snuck in at .1 of a lb below my goal. That was far too close for comfort
