    I’ve gotten in a routine where I make a soup on Sunday to last me for lunch every day. This week’s soup is Persian Spiced Winter Vegetable courtesy of Mel Joulwan.

My recipe: mixed frozen veggies (unseasoned), chickpeas or kidney beans for protein, spice mix of the day (without salt), maybe a teaspoon of Parmesan or butter or olive oil for the fat-soluble vitamins.

Sorry if this has been covered here already. I'm struggling with a sweet tooth. I'm doing well everywhere else, but i really need to rein in the sugar consumption. I will take any tips/ recipes/ substitutions/ strategies that you may have to help fight this sweet battle! Thanks!!

I second elimination. Sugar is more additive than cocaine is. A little bit of cocaine isn’t good for anybody lol! I had to completely cut out anything with sugar personally-including fruits and some veggies!

Yes! It's insane how addicting it is! I never really thought you be "addicted" to sugar, but I've completely changed that thinking around as I've struggled with it. Thank you!!

  • Couch potato day. Only 813 steps all day! I’ve slept most of the day recover from kidney surgery on Wednesday! Just waiting to recover to get started with some walking and exercise.

Anyone else working through frustration? Based on my regular exercise, (meticulously weighed) meals and daily calorie deficit I should have lost 9lbs by now and I’ve only lost 4! It’s not slowing me down, I know my body will catch up in time to all of my good habits. I’m just annoyed that I have 2lbs to go and I might lose this round when I’ve been working so hard. I want to taste that sweet sweet victory with all you other hard workers! 🏆

My fiance comes back tonight so tomorrow starts our 2 week quarantine. We have to do this every few weeks and I have gotten pretty good at planing two weeks of meals but still have trouble keeping fruits and veggies fresh for that long - any suggestions? I go for the big shop tonight.

Put a couple paper towels in your greens bag/box and change every few days. It is amazing how long it extends the life. I regularly have greens last a week+ past the expiration date this way

  • Healthy food is so pretty. 😍

    Pictured: green pepper topped with cauliflower tabbouleh, tomatoes, cucumbers, boca burger patty, roasted mini peppers over mixed super greens and topped with Walden Farms 1000 Island.

    TIP: that dressing (ZERO calories, btw) on the Boca patty seriously tastes like a Big Mac lol. At least from what I remember from when I was a kid 😂
