    Have you been giving yourself grace and realizing small steps forward are better than trying to be perfect?

    Last time we talked about this quote - perfection is the enemy of progress. I also like to put it this way ...and now that you don't have to be PERFECT you can be GOOD. Or even - continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.

    No matter how you say it, remember to give yourself grace. It's a series of small habits that will help you make lasting changes. Those other small choices can be easily overcome rather than being the reason you go completely off course.

    How do you feel about the weigh-in at the end of the week? Just checking in here and staying invovled with us is a reason to be proud of yourself!

I’m feeling great-just did a great workout. As of this morning I have about a pound and a half to go. I’m eating two healthy meals a day. My clothes are fitting better. If I’m not able to make the goal, I’ll know I did my best.

My last transformation I won the 1st month, then didn't make month 2, 3 or 4! I totally had to reset my mind and find my motivation again. But I did, and pushed myself to win months 5 & 6. You can do this! Dig deep to remember your "Why".

  • Happy Valentine's Day! Let's talk about “Dating” different types of workouts.

    The best workout for anyone is one that you enjoy and will actually DO. There are so many different ways to move your body, and different workouts out there. So, if you try enough, you are bound to find something that resonates with you and gets you excited!

    Just like dating, you may have to kiss a lot of frogs 🐸 until you find that one. Don’t get discouraged!

    You can take this as a mini challenge to try something new!

I like the outdoors stuff: hiking, biking, canoeing, and racket sports: squash, badminton, tennis. Really not a fan of running on a treadmill. Lifting weights is fine too, and I'm up for a variety of fitness classes if the instructor is good. But I think due to an old injury on my tailbone, crunches, sit-ups, V-sits are simply not doable for me, and so I don't like any classes that lean too hard on those without offering an alternative.

My husband got me into JiuJitsu a few years ago—it’s the best for workout for body and mind, and our gym is a family oriented gym with other great encouraging ladies. :heart:

  • While I know most of this was water weight, I’m glad with the progress I have made so far. January was to make a habit of watching what I eat and how much, tracking my food and water, and limiting carbs, sugar, sodium, and fats; however, February is going to be a focus of beginning to move around more and start an exercise habit. It’s hard to find workouts that I can do with my disability; fortunately, there are influencers who do focus on low-impact and workout moderations for those who need it. Congrats! Totally blown away by your progress so far.
Have you tried free weights, or weight lifting? Building muscle does slow weight loss but keeps you burning fat long after you finish working out (at least that’s my experience).

  • Lunch this week is baked Cauliflower and Grapes (Harissa, cumin and coriander/cilantro on the cauliflower; bake for 20 mins, then pop the grapes in the oven and bake both for another 10 mins). And to make it even more fun, I bought purple cauliflower 😁

Whenever I feel imposter syndrome sneaking up, I sometimes think of cauliflower. I'm a fan of cauliflower in all forms but let's be honest the versatility with just a bit of time & some seasoning is amazing. Bruce Lee said be like water, I'm gonna be like cauliflower.
