I’ll be losing this round too. I’m only down 1lb! I really need to get motivated/serious but struggling!

I’m feeling the same way, the last week has been hell and I’m emotionally eating and haven’t worked out. Last week my cousin passed on and Tuesday my daughter rolled the truck and was luckily fine except some minor injuries and being scared. I’ve been a wreck for a week and I know I probably haven’t done the scale any honours. But I’m committed to getting all those gains gone and starting the weekend getting back on track. I hope you get the support you need to do the things you want to do! You got this! We are all here on the same journey to support you!

Lisa P.

Ykmama so sorry for your loss and stress with you daughter’s accident- that’s a lot to deal with!

Have a great weekend- here’s to getting back on track.

I just lost round one of my transformer and it is highly unlikely that I will win this one. Not giving up and at least I have lost a few pound but I have a long way to go!

I have a social thing tonight that involves food/wine and a lunch out this coming week (it’s a nice restaurant and I expect healthy options there). Other than those I’m going to cancel all social outings. I do so much better when I stay home - I have only healthy food in the house (I just need to avoid the wine cellar).

Hope everyone else is doing well!

I find it hard to stay on track when I go out as well. I have to learn to be okay with telling someone “no I’m not hungry” when I’m genuinely not. I feel pressured into it because everyone else is doing it and I don’t want to be the odd one out.

I have yet to win one. This will probably be my last game because I'm not even getting close. My downfall is eating out too often - mostly from being on vacation.

I don’t think I’ve ever lost the first round before but I did this time- that is going to make round 2 extra challenging. I need to get my act together!

Don't worry too much about the first round. In the past I have done these and not made the first couple rounds but it's the last few rounds that count the most! I like doing these because you have time for your body to figure things out if the first months aren't the best. You can do it!

Samantha S.

I didn't make it either. Started off great but life happened and I didn't prioritize myself or my goals. We can do this!

I realized I’m going to be traveling on weigh in #2 and I’m not sure if I will have access to a scale. Is there someone I can contact to speak with about any accommodation that could be made? Weigh-in early, extension, something?

They usually grant a one time early weigh in for travel - you need to email support

Meeting a friend for happy hour at a Mexican restaurant. Definitely having a margarita and hoping to not eat many chips! Leaning towards ceviche - it’s hard to eat healthy at a Mexican restaurant.

This weekend is a challenge for healthy eating. I have a cook off on Saturday night (I’m a judge so have to try everything.

Planning to go to the farmers market on Saturday morning to stock up on lots of veggies - I’m going to be really strict about diet starting Sunday. Time for a reset!

As of this morning, I'm good to go for this round. Now I've just got to keep it that way.

I’m not doing very well. Seem to have a hard time sticking to the plan. Nothing too bad, but not seeing results. I need a kick in the butt.

How is everyone else doing? This is a quiet game.

I haven’t been doing very well and this rate I am not going to be able to win the diet bet. And I haven’t won one in a very long time
That’s a clear picture about the thousand calorie deficit. I need to get back into tracking on Fitness and getting more exercise too! Focusing on veggies, protein Drinking water really helps. If I focus for the next part of this DietBet.. and have that thousand calorie deficit it’s possible for me to reach my goal. Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve been feeling pretty discouraged lately about my weight and my motivation.. I’m going to really dig my heels in and focus. We can do this!!:raised_hands:

Doing bad, Gina that sounds like me

I've lost a bit more than I thought I would by now, which is good since I've got two big food-centered events coming up this week. We'll see how I'm faring on the other side of those.

Hope you're all meeting your goals!

Good for you! I’m behind where I wanted to be but just had two food related outings and didn’t make the best choices (decided to enjoy what I wanted when out with friends). Good thing about these longer games is there is always time to catch up! Have fun at your events.

Katie -- I have a very common name, so I was always given a nickname. This is the one I was given in high school, and it stuck.

What are your favorite low-ish calorie sources of calcium?

Of the things I like to eat that are readily available, tofu and collard greens look the most promising, but they won't quite get me to my goal of 1,000mg/day.

Paneer is delicious and super high in calcium but requires that I drive a couple towns over to pick it up or that I make it from scratch (easy, but a bit time consuming). Halloumi, even higher in calcium and lower in calories, is equally a pain to obtain.

Among things that would be a stretch for my taste buds but easy to get are almond milk and tinned sardines.

Any suggestions?

@Lisa: I do like Greek yogurt. I'll have to give canned salmon another chance. I did NOT like it, but there's got to be a recipe that can make it tolerable. If not, my dog will happily help me finish it again.

Lisa P.

@Mezzie - I love all fish/seafood. I saw you didn’t like sardines (which a lot of people don’t) I love those too. If you don’t like it, don’t force yourself to eat it - there are so many tasty, healthy items to choose from. I find when I’m dieting everything seems to taste better. Yesterday lunch lunch was a salad with canned Alaskan salmon packed in water with lettuce from farmers market and tomatoes + cucumbers just picked from my garden - lightly dressed with EVOO and red wine vinegar. It was so good I’m going to have the exact same thing today (strange for me since I don’t like eating the same thing day after day).

Hello! I just joined today and think it'll probably take a miracle to win the first round in less than a month, but I do think winning starting in the second month is possible; I didn't want to wait until an August transformer to start getting back in shape.

Since winning my last Diet Bet in 2024, I've changed my workout routine considerably and no longer burn anywhere near as many calories. I'm hoping this bet will force me to look at my eating and exercise habits closely to figure out what my new portion sizes should be. Until I can eyeball it, I'll be counting calories.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

Hi, welcome!

Lisa P.

You can do it! Counting calories really helps. I do so much better when I log all my food and track calories in and burned with my Fitbit.
