  • When it comes to sweets and treats, do you cut back or cut out when you are actively trying to lose weight? For me its easier not to take the first bite. However some people are able to satisfy their sweet tooth with small amounts of treats, like a square of dark chocolate. Which side do you fall on. In the long run a healthy lifestyle is easier to maintain if you practice moderation instead of deprivation. So what is your strategy?

I cut out completely. After a few days I don’t event crave it and things like fruit taste so much sweeter.

This is a good remitting me that I cannot even have 1 piece of candy. I’m never satisfied with just 1 taste of chocolate or chips!

  • Food Tip: Keep Trigger Foods Out Of Sight!

Try keeping healthy foods right where you can see them, and stash unhealthy ones in a hard-to-reach cupboard, or just don't keep them around at all.
I usually avoid having chips and ice cream around. Do you have any trigger foods?

Hi I’ve done a few dietbets before and the hosts offered info and tips. (Eating and fitness info). I am in another one as well currently and there isn’t much being shared. I’m curious if those are different. How do you choose those ones? Thanks for any insight

The ones with hosts (other than diet referee) seem to have more posts with tips/motivation. I think the participants make the biggest difference - hard to tell which ones will be the most active ahead of time (although safe to say more players means more posts). Best of luck!

Like Lisa said; I look for games with large numbers of participants. More people usually equals more interactions

Me too! I had stopped doing DietBet a fir a long time as I was near my goal, but then I tore my Achilles, got put on lexapro and basically put on 75 pounds in 8 months. Time to turn that around - even if I can’t exercise/hike the way I want to yet. Also in 2 kickstarter and 1 transformer!

  • I want to encourage you to think about how much water you're getting daily. Being well hydrated is so beneficial for weight loss and good health!

Many of you have probably already set a personal daily water goal for yourselves, how many ounces a day are you aiming for? How do you track your intake?

Wow you guys drink a lot of water! I rarely have even a glass. I’m going to start off with 24oz - even that will be a challenge for me.

Bettina F.

Right now I’m only drinking about 50-60 a day, trying to work my way back up to 100 a day. For my weight they say 130 a day, but not sure that’ll happen!

  • Hi!
I'm so glad you're part of this awesome group. Some of you are beginning your weight loss journey, some are nearing the end, or maybe you're somewhere in the middle. Most likely you have a number in mind as your ultimate goal weight! But, no matter how close you are to that, a plan to succeed is so beneficial. My challenge for you is share your plan to re-inspire yourself and others, or sit down and form a plan if you haven't yet. If you're at the beginning think of just one thing you can do today to make yourself healthier as a starting point, no matter how small. That success will propel you forward. Think small goals that will lead you to your big goals! And just for fun let us know where you're from. I'm in Southern UT!

Let's get going, and have a great game!

I’m 41 years old and from NW Indiana, just outside of chicago. I’m here hoping To do something everyday….run, weights, yoga, something

California. I’m starting off gradually - 5000 steps a day, low carb/low fat with lots of veggies and 24oz water per day (drink water is always a challenge for me). I also need to drink less wine.

I can’t weight in! Anyone else gave this problem?

Yes very frustrating. I eventually opened Dietbet from browser on my phone instead of the app.

DietBet posted this earlier today:

We are receiving reports from a small subset of users who are unable to submit their weigh-ins via the app. Our development team is exploring the issue.

If you are impacted, please submit your weigh-in via the site, at This is also an option for any weigh-in, not just this instance. :)

We hope to have a fix soon!

Any one else having problems with the app on an Android phone? Screen goes blank when I click the submit initial weight button. I've reinstalled the app. Rebooted phone, etc.

I did email support but auto response said 1-3 days...I really want to get my weight submitted (I joined 3 games and need to enter starting weight for all).

You have to go on the actual website to get it to submit… the app is busted for now

I had the same issue so logged into Waybetter and my account and could access it that way! The app is a blank white screen!
