How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Geesh! I thought I posted this afternoon, but I don't see it. Anyway, I was just sharing that I had tried to donate blood today. Iron levels must be at 38, but mine was 37. UGH! I don't usually have a problem. I'm sure it's because of my reduced calorie intake these days.

I regularly donate plasma. And my iron used to be a problem. What I found to be my biggest face palm was that if you work out before you donate, even just a brisk walk, your iron will be low. And I’m not talking just before. Within 6 to 8 hours it will affect you. I was exercising before donating so I wouldn’t be too tired later in the day. But they kept rejecting me for low iron.

Another important thing, if you are trying to boost your iron, especially through supplements, your body will not absorb much iron for two hours after a heavy work out. There’s a hormone that is produced that blocks absorption. So try to make sure that dietary iron is taken in either before your work out or at least four hours after.

Wow interesting! I’m not sure what the baseline levels are for iron for giving blood but the one time I did, whatever is consider “okay” for them must have been super low for me because I ended up becoming anemic after. :joy:
