Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

Some of you have already heard part of this, and I thank you for your support and kind words. I promise you this post turns positive.
Last month I had to run 1800 miles away to go see my father in hospice care. I had to drive there (long story) and stayed home for 2 weeks. So that's 6 cumulative days on the road (eating garbage), and a couple weeks in a different state, away from my home and my healthy routines, and surrounded by grief. In that time I gained back a ton of weight. My parents' home is LOADED with unhealthy snacks, and I was back in my home town, craving all my old favorite foods. I tried to work out, but it just didn't take. I worked out 3 times in 17 days. After my father passed and I came back to my home I was dejected with my DietBet because I was never going to make my October weigh in. And I was afraid that I was so far gone that I'd never make my November weight either.
But I did 2 things - I IMMEDIATELY got back into my workout routine, and I started counting calories in earnest. All of that salty, water retention weight shedded off, and I'm still on a razors edge with making my November weight, but I believe it's possible.
Sometimes life just steals our progress from us. But you can take it back. There will ALWAYS be these troughs to progress, but none of them are permanent.
Let life take it's course, but don't be afraid to pull on the reins and say "OK, that's enough, I need to get back to normal."

Sorry about your dad. I remarked the other night to my partner that I've only been at a healthy weight twice in my adult life. Once my dad died, (then I got pregnant and gained 100 pounds), the next time I finally lost the baby weight when kiddo was 7 (in 2018) and Mom died.
