How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

For those doing DietBet for the first time, here's what has worked for me in the past:

- Really engage this community.
- Do the weekly prize weigh ins as well as post pics of your work outs, victories or share your struggles. We're all in the same boat. We can support each other.
- Keep a food diary and track EVERYTHING. I use the Lose It! app.
- Take daily walks (I walk about 1.5 miles).
- Run 1.5-2 miles at least 3-4 times a week.
- Drink lots of water! If you're feeling snacky, drink a full glass of water first and wait five minutes. Sometimes your hunger will go away.
- Limit sodium as that really makes you retain water.
- Do some kind of strength training twice a week.
- Get more sleep. Lack of sleep makes your hormones go crazy and makes your more prone to snacking.
- Budget in some cheat days. I do my cheat days on official weigh in days, so once a month for a Transformer. This way I'm working towards a goal but still giving myself some enjoyment along the way.
- Weigh yourself every day, at the same time (roughly) in the same conditions.
- Take the good with the bad. Be consistent. I've done 8 DietBet games and this is my second Transformer. By tracking my food and my weight every day, I learned valuable trends for when and how my body reacts to food and exercise. I also was able to push through any stalls by keeping the routine and having faith that the scale would eventually dip, which it always did after a few days.
- Do what you can.

DietBet has been a WONDERFUL motivator for me to be healthier! I've allowed myself some breaks and gained some weight back but not all of it and, in the mean time, I've been able to hover closer around my goal(s). I hope this list helps. Every person is different so adopt what does work for you and throw out what doesn't. Friend request me if you wanna chat more and help keep each other accountable. Best of luck!

You can do this! One step at a time! One day at a time! It will all add up to something great!
