How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I just did my progress weigh-in, and, if it's accepted, I should be able to reuse it for the official weigh-in Monday morning. If so, I made it. Barely. Like I said before, it's been a rough month, and any loss was probably due to anxiety and stress more than diet and exercise.

I've got two more pounds to go. It's tempting to increase my deficit and try and get it over with quickly, but that won't support my exercise goals, so I'm still aiming for just a 100-calorie deficit daily.

ETA: I had lunch with some family visiting from out of the country yesterday. Last time I saw them, one asked, "Have you gained weight?" I had. This time, she asked, "Have you been losing weight?"

It's always a little jarring when that side of the family starts with comments on everyone's weight (it's a cultural thing), but at least this time it was confirmation of a job well done. No one else is likely to say anything, even if they notice (which they might not -- it's only a dramatic change to me, I think).

Good job!!

Nadya, it can if it's an official, verified weigh-in. I've done it for every round so far. I don't fully trust it, so I am prepared to weigh-in again on Monday, but there is a 48-hour window for reusing official weigh-ins. It's in the game rules.
