How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

My usual strategy is calorie counting, but I was getting burned out in many areas of my life, so I dropped it this month, logging only seven days early on. By some miracle, I'm on track to win this month. I just have to somehow not go wild this weekend.

I've mostly eaten whole foods, but I've also had some junk, some highly calorific desserts, and some days when I had four full meals instead of three. Since I don't know exactly how everything worked out (I did gain weight around the middle of April), I can't leave this weekend to chance, so I need to track again.

I'll probably have to keep tracking for the rest of the game, too. That final goal is a stretch. It'll be nice when I can switch to maintenance after hitting it!

That’s the best way to lose weight! Somehow just calorie counting feels sustainable past the game, and I’ll be able to keep the weight off.
