How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Made it to cheat day. Absolutely nothing is off-limits today. I'll most likely gain back most, if not more than the weight I've lost since the start of this DietBet. Cheat day is part of my plan. Cheat day weight will be off by Tuesday and my weight will start going down again.

I ended up having an unplanned cheat day for the first time in my weight loss journey so far and found it was really hard to fight the cravings for the first couple of days back on track. I was thinking about sugar all day! It felt like starting my diet from scratch. Any tips or just fight through it?

@Eliana I don't fight the cravings. For me, it's a lost battle. Cravings will win out every time. The energy and willpower can be better used elsewhere. I find it easy to be good 6 out of 7 days. On cheat day, nothing is off-limits. It scratches my itch and does have some health benefits. The biggest problem with cheating for most is not stopping. I plan for cheat days and the rest of the days, and instead of spending willpower fighting cravings, I spend willpower sticking to the plan. It also changes my mindset. I'm not denying myself the cake and the bottle of rum, I'm just rescheduling it. I make a list of the stuff I crave during the week and try to have it on cheat day. At the end of the day, I clear the list and start over. I also have a backup plan for unexpected cheats.
