How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • This isn't really about this game, but about the journey... I've been so close to dropping into the next decile and it's like I keep self-sabotaging. Over the weekend I weighed in to end another game with a lower goal than I've got here right now, then took the opportunity to eat... too much... when we went out. And the worst part was that the restaurant turned out to not be very good, so it wasn't even a satisfying "cheat meal", which made me feel even worse about it. Feeling bad about it then triggered me to do it again.

Just now I stepped on the scale and was almost back at the starting point for that game I'd just won! So now it's going to be more of a struggle than it ought to meet my various game goals for June. I don't want to just give up, so I decided to enter another game. And maybe I'll do a few more as well, since I already have to meet lower goals than the one today's weight puts me at, and I want to avoid a situation where, if it looks like I can't make the lower ones, I throw all my efforts away.

I really do appreciate the site, anyway, because without it, I know I wouldn't be able to hold on. I mean, when I JFTFP, it works, so in that sense, I'm not worried. But the effort is in sticking to it. It also sucks that the older I get, the bigger an impact every damn slip seems to have. When I was young, I ate whatever the heck I wanted and somehow stayed trim. Now it's like I look at a deep-fried thing the wrong way, and I'm up two pounds!

Anyway, thanks for listening, everyone. And let's all keep on keeping on...

I didn’t meet my goal for April. Round 4 on May 1 is the only weigh-in since I started doing DietBets in September 2016 that I did not hit my goal. I was so mad at myself. April was a rough month and I did not stick with my eating plan and part of me didn’t even care. I’m close to being back at my April 1 weight and have about 4 pounds more to lose to make my June 1 goal. We are on a cruise June 9-14 so I know I will gain weight that week and will really need to crack down on myself for those last two weeks to make my final weigh-in. I’m not giving up. I will make an attempt
to make good choices on the cruise but not deprive myself either. I prepaid my Transformer and got one month free so I’m hoping that if I meet the final goal that I will not lose any money.
