Non-scale victory of the week!

I feel like I’m getting really used to this way of life and it’s not feeling as much like a diet as it is a transition into eating well and taking care of myself. I went on a really amazing hike this weekend even though I was scared to go alone. I got a ton of exercise that day and it was really fun.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

I injured my left ankle by trying to run. I am really worried this is an injury I won’t recover from because I have fallen arches and the tendons in my ankles are showing signs of wear and tear. I can’t feel my toes. Resting today in the hopes it calms down. This has taught me to be much more cautious about how I exercise. I also experienced a really bad crash after exercising first thing in the morning (6am) and not eating until 10am. I was utterly drained all day even after eating plenty so something went horribly wrong there. I need to learn what the best approach for exercise is when I’m a faster state.

What are your goals for the upcoming week?

Since I need to cut back on walking and foot-type exercises, next week I will be aiming to find new ways to exercise such as weight lifting, biking, swimming, and hopefully kayaking.

Non-scale victory of the week!

noticing that it is easier to drink the amount of water that I need daily - I am getting used to drinking the right amount of water my body needs.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

went out to eat and ordered a rich meal that turned out to be not as good as I'd hoped, but I ate the whole thing anyway, knowing it would be too caloric AND not satisfying. In retrospect I should have eaten less of it and opted to add something healthy like a salad to balance the meal better.
