  • Here’s a look at what a day of eating looks like for me! How is everyone doing heading into the weekend?

Weight has been fluctuating, but I’m also on my period right now, so I’m probably bloated. Trying to reduce gluten and dairy intake and increase intake of fruit, veggies, fiber and protein. I have a lot of inflammation in my body and joint pain so I’m hoping reducing the dairy/gluten might help.

All week I stuck to smoothies every morning, salads for lunch and kept up with running goals. Down 4 pounds and going strong into the weekend! My chickens are laying eggs like crazy so definitely egg salad coming up.

Hi everyone! It’s finally time to weigh-in! If you’re not home and you had plans this weekend, that’s ok! You have 16 days to weigh-in. Just make sure that in your full body photo the scale, your toes, and full body is visible in the photo.
You can have someone else take the photo for you or you can take a picture of your reflection in a mirror.
Then, make sure to get a close up of your feet on the scale with the weigh-in word. This is how DietBet keeps people honest.

To those who are starting today, congratulations! Big things are on the horizon and you just made a big step toward a healthier you!

I am starting Monday. We are currently in San a Diego for our son Elias’ birthday weekend and celebrating his life with beach visits and family togetherness. Have a beautiful weekend! I’ll check back in soon!

Hi! This my first diet-bet in several years. I am 5 foot 1 in height and since 2008 (college) I have struggled with keeping weight off. I’m going to my official starting weight in later today but I know I’m currently well over 200 pounds. Thankfully I’m generally healthy over than high cholesterol but for being 35 years of age my weight does cause aches and joint pain. I have homozygous MTHFR so I will be striving to consume a diet that will be in alignment with that consideration. I am married to a wonderful living husband and I work full time in property management. I’m hoping we can all provide support to each other throughout this 4-week process.

I had to look up MTHFR, very interesting.

  • Hi everyone! 👋 I'm a 34 year old wife and homeschool mama of 1. I have been overweight my whole life. I have tried so many different diets and every time I regained the weight I lost. I have alot of weight to lose and I'm praying it stays off this time! My mindset and focus are different this time and I'm extremely hopeful. Unlike other times, I'm not willing to do any special diets unless it's something I'm willing to do forever. I'm in this for the lifestyle change. That doesn't mean that my diet hasn't changed, because it most definitely has. But it's changed in a way that I think I can do forever. So far, I've lost about 30lbs!

    We got this!!

My goal is 44 lbs gonzo by my 44th birthday in August. This will be the perfect start to that! I have been following Brittany for what seems like forever now and this is my 4th or 5th DietBet with her. Welcome!

What a great goal! This challenge will be a springboard for my weight loss journey as well. I have about 80 pounds to lose but taking things one day at a time as I know it will take a while to lose that much in a healthy sustainable way.

shelly r.

Ok Shannon, my birthday is in August too (not my 44th though) and 44 lbs is a perfect goal for me as well! Let’s go!!!

  • Nutritionix is a fantastic app if you’re looking for a macro and/or calorie tracker where you can keep a good diary, weight log, water log, and activity log! ❤

What are you using for your macro %? Or where do you suggest starting that research?

Cindy D.

That’s pretty good - I track my intake in Noom but have also used WW and Fitbit app.

Hello! I’m coming out of a very challenging year where I had to work at my desk for up to 12 hours a day with stress hormones pumping through my body around the clock. A not-so successful foot surgery at the end of the year added to my sedentary lifestyle. I’m looking forward to working with a group as I re-calibrate toward the activity and healthy food that make me feel like myself again!

I have a primarily sedentary and stressful office job as well so I can relate on some level. Glad we have this group for accountability.

Cindy D.

To feel myself again is a good way to state the case! I like being in command and making healthy choices rather than letting desire for quick fix with less nutritious foods take over! We can do it! I hope your recovery goes well!!

Hi my name is Jennifer. I am a wife and mom of 2 little. I am about 4 months post partum. I was at my highest when I got pregnant with my first. I got down to my pregnancy weight the week I found out o was pregnant with my second. I have a lot to lose-between 85 and 100 pounds. It’s very overwhelming but doable. It will take time but I want to be healthy for my family!

I have about 80-90 pounds to lose as well. It is overwhelming to think about but every healthy choice every day brings us closer to that overall goal. We are in this together.

Cindy D.

That is some good motivation. And keeping your eye on each small goal - like the goal weight for this challenge is a way to get there - slow, steady, and healthy!

Hi everyone! Please feel free to introduce yourself if you feel comfortable. I’ll go first!
My name is Brittany and I lost 125 pounds seven years ago. I have since had a few small regains, typically around the holidays, but over the last two years I’ve regained 30 pounds.
I’m a lover of good times and fun. Those two things always seem to involve food. Food brings us closer together. It’s not just for sustenance but experience. The tricky part is balancing the “good times” food with the “all the times” food.
Over the next 6 months I’m going to focus on finding the balance. That might also look like acknowledging that the weight my body is happiest at is a little higher than what I feel most attractive at. Im headed into this open-minded and highly motivated.
I’m excited to have friends join me along the way. Thank you for being here. Community is one of the things that will make or break you on a health journey. Let’s help each other make it!❤

Hi, I’m 35 years old, a wife to an amazing husband, work full time and have battled my weight since college (2009 ish). Since then I have been severely overweight (need to lose 80-90pounds) and I feel it in my joints and body aches. The excess weight my body carries needs to go so I can live a more balanced healthy life. Going into this challenge I’m definitely going to focus on portion sizes which can be my downfall, minimize alcohol, stay hydrated and keep a journal to reflect on my emotions since I am an emotional and stress eater sometimes. Brittany, thank you for putting this together and inspiring me!
