This blog just reassures me that this IS the place to be with similar people and similar situations. Good for you on the personal trainer. I've always wanted one but could never fit it in my budget. Ironically my son and his wife are personal trainers lol but yeah I don't think I can take direction from a relative unless they were Jillian Michaels or Chris Powell lol. And I totally agree about telling close friends and/or family members about what you are doing. Mine always seem to have sabotage in the back of their mind or they do it unconsciously...either way it never works out. I am so glad I found this platform to encourage and motivate me. I was going to take a break from DietBet for a month but then I saw J.M. was doing one...see you there!

Thanks! I'm think i'll do great with my personal trainer. We had an hour long consult and it went really well. My first session is Monday. It doesn't fit my budget either but I'm fortunate that the company I work for has a health & wellness incentive and we get money each year to go towards gym memberships, personal trainers and sports club memberships. Otherwise i'd never afford it lol. I feel like while relatives and friends mean well, they do sabotage things to an extent. "Oh you look fine, have a slice of birthday cake". "Why don't you come have dinner at our place, we are doing ribs tonight. You won't gain weight with this ONE meal"... and those kinds of things when they KNOW what i'm trying to do. I think it's a good move to not get personal training from family. Too much can go wrong with emotions and all that.

You crack me up!...not at the situation but the Karma part...lol...and for your diet, it doesn't sound like you messed up too bad. Yeah it was a low carb day but you still didn't go full throttle. When I read your title I thought you ate a whole pie or something...lol...Keep that positivity going...you got this!

It sounds like your muscles wanted to rest. It's great that you're motivated to lose the weight. you have to give it time for the body to catch up. You could always research some weight training routines for the legs to strengthen them so they will be a lot more resilient during your journey. Don't worry about them getting muscular, they will get stronger but NOT in a weight lifting athlete sort of way (you would need male testosterone treatments for that kind of muscle growth).

That's how it starts...one day at a time. That's all we can do and it is hard for most of us. I tried carb cycling from day one but It is really hard if you are not totally prepared. Meals planned...groceries bought...every step thought out. Sheesh I hardly have time to think what I'm wearing the next day...lol. I am still forging through though. And that's all that matters. You started slow but you'll finish big! DAY TWO here you come!!!

I agree that the planning is really tedious. It's kind of exhausting but i just have to remind myself that's for the better. Thanks for the comment!
