Happy Tuesday!

Are you feeling hungry in the evening and need a crunchy snack?

First!! Make sure you are truly hungry and you aren’t just wanting to snack because you're bored or because snacking has become a habit as soon as you get to relax for the evening.

Now, if you are TRULY HUNGRY and need a little snack, here are some suggestions…

- Rice cakes with toppings of your choice (cottage cheese, PB, Greek yogurt, hummus, etc)
- Greek yogurt with a handful of low/no sugar cereal (Chex, plain cheerios)
- Celery w/ Peanut butter
- Carrots/celery/cucumbers/peppers w/ hummus
- Apple w/ Peanut Butter

Marinated onions, tomatoes and cucumbers in Italian dressing. When opening a new bottle of Italian dressing I do not shake the oil up, I drain it out, then shake the bottle. Less fat.

I have a sweet tooth so love dates, cut in half fill with peanut butter and dip in melted dark chocolate and place in freezer in airtight container. Soooo good

I need to stop eating after dinner and I’d love it if my refrigerator door handles and pantry door would just ‘zap’ my hands every time I try to open them after dinner-Haha!!! Oooffff-the struggle breaking bad habits is real. I know I can do it-going to replace that habit with getting up for a treadmill walk, or doing a chore or two, reaching out to chat with someone I haven’t spoken with in a while, etc! I can do hard things!

Of course now I remember my other question... ??‍♀️ should I be using amino acids in my protein shake each day? I use 1st phorm ignition carbohydrate, 1st phorm phormula 1 protein powder, and their creatine powder each day with water and ice. Would amino acids benefit me?

Thank you for the "be an adult" reminder, Joel! I've definitely been struggling with being in a deficit this week and the reminder that we are only here for a month helped my mindset a lot!!

We are headed into the first weekend of this DietBet and weekends often mean we are out of routine and there are foods around that we may not have prepared for.

Don't fall into the “I’ll start again Monday” mindset when it comes to your health journey.

How many times have you been dieting, gone over your calories or eaten something you thought you were "not supposed to eat" and then said "Well, I've already messed it up, may as well keep going, I'll start again Monday" and then continued to eat more than planned?

IF you go over your calories or eat something you were not planning on eating give yourself grace and continue on your plan the rest of the day.

How does this work?

Say you eat 2 oreos that you didn't plan for, don't continue to eat the whole sleeve.
You ate those two oreos, now what?

1. Know you are human and don't beat yourself up.
2. Put the rest away.
3. Get back on track TODAY, not Monday.

It may not be a mindset you are used to, but YOU are in control, you got this!

I was off work for 2 weeks, home with kiddos and family in town… I said yes to everything!!!! (And not in moderation) By the end, my body was sick and actually craving healthy food!!! I’m back at it, missed my Monday workout, but I’m back on track and feeling good!!! I would love some new, Super Easy, packable lunch ideas!!!! Currently, I eat hard boiled egg and cottage cheese (mixed like egg salad) and 2 rice cakes, cheese stick, apple if I need crunchy and a protein bar! And I drink all day an iced protein coffee!! What else can I eat??? Help!!!!

I just packed turkey slices and rice cakes! Carrots and a protein bar. I space it out through the day!! Protein ice coffee and apple slices too!

  • Two weeks of meal prep lunches going in the freezer and another week in the fridge. This helps me so much when I’m packing a lunch for work.

@funrach82 I use recipes from stay fit mom each recipe makes 5 bowls. I normally just take them out the morning of and throw it in my lunch box. They are still pretty frozen by lunch but I just throw them in the microwave.

6 days left and I'm below where I need to be. Woot woot! I was a bit worried because the scale hasn't budged for a week except to shift up a bit but that's the once a month normal for me.

I'm now down 45lbs in all!!

I didn't think much of that number until I realized as I was filling up the pellet stove that a bag of pellets is 40lbs - and those things are heavy...plus another 5lbs! I've still got a ways to go before I'm back at goal weight but everything fits better, feels better and my reward to myself is a night away with my husband when he gets home from out of province work. My mom is taking the kids so we get a day to go Christmas stocking shopping and a night away!

Plus, I'll have some dietbet winnings to spend on some new leggings!
