We are planning to go to the state fair on Saturday (the only day our schedule will allow.) Normally I would plan for this as a maintenance day and allow myself a few treats that I really only get once a year at the fair (scones, fair burger, funnel cake.) Since my mental shift of this being a lifestyle and not a diet, this method has worked great for me and I'm always able to get back on track. However, as I'm getting closer to my goal weight, the weight is getting harder to lose. (85 lbs down, 25 to go) It's already going to be very close as to whether I make weigh in by Monday. If I allow this cheat on Saturday, I'm almost sure not to make weigh in. I've done many many kickstarters and transformers over the years (after each of my last 3 babies) and I dont think I've ever lost a weigh in. I'm not sure what I should do.

Can you just taste some of the treats and share them so that you stay in your way of eating for the day? Agree that some events seem very tied to eating, like I get the huge turkey leg at a Renaissance fair. Maybe you can find a new favorite at the fair that is healthy?

Go and enjoy yourself. Remember treat yourself, but don't loose control. On Saturday night or Sunday morning get right back on track. You deserve it. Have fun!
