Earlier in the week, the scale was moving down and I felt really good. Yesterday morning I weighed and it was all back nearly my initial weigh in number. This is where I usually say "forget it, this is pointless." I have never been successful losing any weight at this age (I'm 50, haven't been successful in 8 years), and I just feel so incredibly hopeless and demoralized. I have been very diligent all week, and have felt encouraged. It feels good to make the right choices and to be putting quality, healthy nutrition into my body. But why is the scale NOT MOVING? Why don't I feel a difference in the waistband of my jeans? If I go another week and see/feel no different, what do I do with that? Am I stuck in this body I don't feel proud of forever?

Renee, I totally know how that feels. Please remember that weight loss isn't a steady down hill line but a line that trends downword with bumps up now and then. I learned a few years go to weigh myself Wed, Thurs and Fri and take an average. A once a week weigh-in cannot tell the whole story. Stick with your plan and you will get there!

Dont give up Renee! I know how it feels, I got the same thing on Saturday morning and started down the self-blame path... But then I stopped myself, and went out for a walk in the sunshine. One day's result does not account for the full week!

It is the demotivation that gets the best of us at times. Do whatever works for you to stay ypur course! Thats the only way to get results...
