Don't spend too much time in the rear view mirror, the past never changes. However, we can change our response today. Just take it one meal at a time. When you make a poor choice, and trust me we all do (two bowls of chips and 2 glasses of wine last night...) just look to the next opportunity to make a good decision. It's a life change for many of us, and habits take time to form and reform. Enjoy today.

You are not alone! I am doing my first Diet Bet and have really been struggling to put down the sweets! My plan was to give up cookies, cake, chocolate but it has proven to be a lot harder than I thought for me. I will be good for 3 or 4 days then I cheat, and then I have a hard time getting back on track! I have had a couple of unfortunate binges and I knew I had to be honest and just weigh myself and guess what, I weighed more than my initial start up weight. I am not happy about this but I can only keep trying and not be so discouraged that I keep on bingeing. I think it's possible I won't make my goal weight but it feels good to share about it and keep trying and learning what my triggers are. Thanks for sharing your blog!!!

I couldn't agree more! I can relate when you talk about perfection. It's impossible to maintain, is not realistic, and makes us feel bad when we 'fail'. It also sets us up to say 'screw it' because we can't meet the perfect standards we set for ourselves. I am trying to learn how to enjoy things in moderation. I've always struggled with having just one lol. Thanks for the post!
And so it begins....

Great mindset, Viv! "Is it worth it" is one of the most powerful tools I have in controlling my food. If I'm craving something, I ask myself that question. Honestly, most days the answer is no. Some days the answer is yes. So, yes, I have eaten a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream from time to rare time, and I don't regret a single one. :)

Very inspiring! I think Mothers have the ultimate job and you never get any time off until they are out of the nest. Even then, you'll always be looking after them in some way. This is your opportunity to work on you! Be the person you want to be and enjoy your life to the fullest! :D

I'm at that stage of life, too. What better time to finally take control of my life! This will be a great journey!
