Maybe you could ease into it by doing your own sort of diet bet. Stash some cash somewhere (like $35-$40), choose an end goal weight and work towards that goal for 30 days. If you hit it, use the cash to celebrate. If you don't, put the cash in savings. That way you still have the goal, but you don't have the possibility of losing money. I didn't even come close to winning my first bet, but I'm in a much better place motivationally, so I'm trying again!

I think I like step bet more. Just because there are less variables, I know how many steps I need and I am completely in control of how many steps I take, with diet bet you have some control but like if i get sick or get my period (i dont have a regular period, it comes and goes as it pleases) then I could go up a pound or two and there isn't much I can do
