How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Hi everyone.
Last night around midnight I ordered a full icecream cake and ate all of it. I’ve been late night binging for months now and I don’t know how to stop. A couple people posted on my last post - thank you for that. I’m only writing again just because I’m looking for a magic pill to stop but maybe there isn’t? The idea of resisting my urge just before bed just seems like a ‘fact’ that I can’t. No other option. Anyway, thanks for listening.

You are not a failure. With the right help you can overcome this. If this is becoming more common it’s moving into habit/addiction mode. Find truth and speak it into yourself. Run away from temptation. Your worth is not found in food choices or body size.

It sounds like you didn’t have the food there and had to order it, so that’s good because it means you have cleaned your environment of unhealthy foods. If you haven’t, start there. Dump the ice cream etc from your home. Make it harder to slip up.
If you live with someone, have them keep your credit cards after dinner so you can’t buy more food. If you’re on your own, maybe go out after dinner and put your credit cards in your car glove compartment so you have an extra step before ordering, especially if it’s cold out. Lock your car!
Start with better self-talk during the day: “I can resist bingeing.”. Keep telling yourself that truth: I can resist bingeing. Bad self-talk can sabotage you. You do have the strength for this.
Find a friend you can call when you feel the urge coming on to binge. I’d say check in here, but feedback time is probably too slow.
Remind yourself that you will be able to eat whatever you’re craving occasionally as you aren’t taking holy vows not to ever again, but just not tonight. One night isn’t too overwhelming.
Don’t accept the “I’ll start being better tomorrow” or “I’ll make up for it tomorrow” excuses. Now is the only time you know you can control, so choose to do it now. DietBet is great for that: you have limited tomorrows or you lose money.
You’ve got this! You can do it!
