  • I don't know why I started feeling really funky today maybe the time of the month is coming so I feel really bloated and not good. After my workout today though I took a picture of myself and compared it to a picture I took of myself about a month after I got married this year. After seeing the two pictures side by side I really see the progress I have made now. I've been plateaued at about 300 for what feels like forever but is probably only been like a week and a half. I was feeling kind of discouraged for a while. The scale may not have moved beyond 300 yet but just looking at where I started motivates me to keep going.

  • Dinner meals prepped- skillet meal veggie fixins’ pre-chopped. I just pour the container into a skillet and add choice of meat. Voila! My veggies of choice are bok choy, kale, zucc, broccoli, carrots, peppers, okra and onion- all sauté nicely. I just freeze containers until I need em. BTW many of these veggies are also great at reducing bloating!

Nice! Although, take note that broccoli is a member of the FODMAP group which CAN cause bloating in some individuals. (FODMAP’s are short chained carbohydrates that skip digestion and are then fermented by gut bacteria in the colon which causes gas)

Let's talk goals!

Is this game it? Does it encompass your short and long term goal, or is a stepping stone?

If it is a stepping stone, what's your longer term goal? Ultimate goal?

Personally I like to have the very vague, very low-pressure "be stronger and healthier Ultimate Goal". Because I don't know when/if the end point of that is. And putting firm numbers on that makes me, personally, freeze.
I like putting small chunks on things. "My next goal is to knock xx seconds off of my mile time" or "lose 1% body fat" or "lose 5 pounds".

But different things work for different people! A good friend of mine is doing very well with one big general goal of "lose 75 pounds". She's over halfway there. No freezing, just plugging along, it's very cool.

So - what are your goals (or goal) that you are cool sharing with the class?
