Question for the women here: Do you also experience strong weight fluctuations during your period?
And how do you stay motivated and cope when cravings hit and it feels like you could eat everything in sight?
I’d appreciate any tips — I’ve been really struggling with the scale for the past few days. ?🙏

Yesssss I find the more active I am the more intentional I am when I’m eating.

I found dill pickles crush my craving for salty things when I’m on my period

When I joined this Dietbet I didn’t know who Joel was, just joined to lose weight and win $ 😁 But I downloaded the BODi app and started the beginner workouts on LIIFT4. I’m on day 3 and LOVING it so far!

I’m going to get back to meal planning. It helps with budgeting calories and funds. I have 2 picky teenage boys and struggle to feed myself and the rest of the family without relying on easy food because we are on the run. Baseball practices are about to start and this is going to make planning that much more important.

Meal prepping and then shopping for the week, that way only healthier choices available!

I've had a terrible day of stress/anxiety eating. Has anyone in the group successfully overcome this or have any tips for coping with emotional eating?

Also, getting some activity in. I realized that sometimes when I’m eating it’s because I actually want to be moving, but I feel embarrassed. Walking around the office park, or doing 20 squats in the largest bathroom stall is a little reset

I find getting into intermittent fasting is the only way to curb my emotional eating. I mostly do it in the evening/night when I'm tired and emotions are harder to deal with, and I'm around food while I'm prepping for the next day so tend to stuff my face while doing all that. IF gives me boundaries, I usually don't eat after 7pm and try to end my eating window with something filling, healthy and satisfying, so I know for a fact I'm not hungry in the evening. First week back into it this year was rough, I pretty much had to suffer my emotions... a couple nights I caved and ate late .... But second week has been getting better and I'm even backing up my eating window without much issue. Fasting is for both physical and spiritual health for me so I find it helpful on several levels.

  • Trying to hit 150g of protein and get all my water intake for the day has always kept my sugar cravings at bay.

I don’t like to cook so basic boiled chicken and microwaveable quinoa with brown rice for lunch today ??

Crock pot chicken is easy to cook more flavorful. I put a bunch of chicken breasts in the crockpot with marinade/soy sauce and whatever spices I feel like at the moment, cook on low for 8 hours, pull out and shred, mix in a little sauce (or multiple sauces) and I have chicken for the week. Extra gets frozen before the sauce goes in so I can thaw and sauce it the next week.

That looks awesome!

  • Dairy free yogurt, with granola and blackberries. I use Forager Project plain yogurt…. It’s the best dairy free option I have found so far. Lactose intolerance isn’t fun, but at least there are options! Anyone else dairy free??

Unfortunately, I have. I use to eat Greek yogurt, but as I’ve gotten older, I just can’t tolerate it .

I just bought Foragers plain Greek yogurt at Costco yesterday!

Hi from Canada 🇨🇦 everyone. Here’s my 5 point plan to achieve my 4% by Feb 1.
1. Drink water like it’s my dayjob
2. Get 8 hours sleep
3. Portion control
4. Get 30 min a day of exercise.
5. Zero sweets
6. Sever a limb if necessary 💪? 😂
