Hi Amanda,Glad you had a good week and bounced back. I think the key to weight loss success is the realization that this is a marathon not a sprint. I know I would always jump out of the starting gate and be amazing, then I would inevitably mess up and then give up. When you look at the weight loss journey as a marathon it is very different. The key is to keep at it and not give up!

You're totally right! It's ok to have cheat meals once in a while as long as your still continuing towards your goal. I've been getting side tracked lately, but I'm starting to get back on track. Take things slow little by little and make small goals that seem doable. That helps you stay motivated than to make goals that seem to hard to reach :)
Seriously, cravings SUCK

Great goals! I follow WW too, though I try to be a bit more restrictive than what WW allows. Keeping processed food, white flour and sugar to a minimum helps with the cravings. I feel more even keel, not so "I need something now!"

Stunning Beauty

Avoiding sugary and salty foods has really helped reduce my cravings. I hope it works for you too. :)

There's an immense pleasure that fills me when I do something that I love. EX. Yesterday I took the day off of work, to work in the sculpture studio on a project with a friend! The sense of peace and pleasure was immensely pervasive as we indulged in creativity and laughter. Creativity is one of my diversionary tactics when I begin to obsess over food/dieting. I also love working in the garden. The point is using what YOU love as a diversion...... it will fill you with peace, happiness and bring you back to center.

Good job! So proud of you! Things get super tough, and you can't help but have those angry bursts sometimes. My all-time stress reliever is sleep lol! Believe it or not, it really helps me. I've been trying to direct my stress relief method to working out though.

AliC

Sounds to me like you handled everything well. You are allowed your frustrations. You realized that you are allowed, keyed in on a stress reliever (sleep, in this case), allowed for it, allowed for the new mindset to take hold and enjoyed the rest of your day. Excellent, all in all!

Thanks, you guys! Yes, planning is soooo much of it. I honestly believe most of us here actually have great will power and motivation - but we're only human and if we don't plan to handle our environment sometimes it's almost impossible. Thanks for the encouragement.Have a great day! Today my water bottle will not leave my side! I'll update later :))

Same here with my water intake. And I could NEVER just eat one slice of pizza myself haha. Good luck :)

This is so awesome! I'm happy you are putting the time and energy into making the changes! When I counted calories before it was always hard for me to find a way to eat right and get my daily intake. I can suggest adding healthy fats to things that aren't usually worth a lot of calories (or points), like adding avocado to your salads. Good for you for going in to your brothers pizza party with confidence- that is the best possible way to fight temptation! Keep up the awesome work! Maybe we can share some recipes?
