  • Help 😭 I haven't posted yet and feeling like if I post it might help my accountability, 'cause I'm struggling. I have a mega Kickstarter weigh in this coming week and I'm scared to even weigh myself. I weighed earlier last week and I was down about 4 lb, but needed down 5 more for the Kickstarter and I don't think I was disciplined enough to come down that much more. I don't even know if I'll make the goal for this round. But I need to get my act together and kick things up a notch. Life's just been handing me interrupted sleep, bad news and stressors like candy, and I wasn't coping great lifestyle wise. Especially the lack of sleep, it zapps my willpower, but had a really sick kid. Any empathy, encouragement, or tips in the face of poor sleep & difficult circumstances welcome. I love seeing how well some of you are doing and I know I should come on and engage this community more! Hopefully this is a good start.

Fruit works well for me too! Especially when I want some sweets. Cut them in advance.
Also, practice some self compassion. If you don't make this round, reflect objectively about small changes you can make to show more progress next round. Like some have said, give yourself grace to be human. And post more! You will find the support you need here.

  • Good morning and welcome to Movement Monday!

    It's the start of the week and its time to plan what your week will look like. While I can't usually get a workout in on Mondays between work and kid chaos, that doesn't mean I can't plan what days I'm going to get a workout in.

    This week will be Wednesday, Friday, Saturday as planned workouts-hitting up the gym for weights and cardio.

    But I also like to throw in something that we can do as a family-so Sunday living room dance party it is! Throw on whatever music you like to shake your tush to and have fun!
    Does it have to be pretty? HECK NO!
    Will it still be fun? HECK YES!

This has been a week with travel, crazy work hours with late nights to make deadlines, last night my daughter had a breakthrough seizure that required a trip to the hospital. Luckily no overnight stay but we didn’t get home until almost midnight. I told my husband today that I feel physically and emotionally worn down. Normally I feel like I would have stress ate but I find this game to be motivating and has helped keep me grounded and on track.

I’m happy and relieved to share that I’m doing pretty OK after starting back with DietBet. My weight is going down and I’m managing to not eat late in the evening. That control is my biggest win. I hope you all are experiencing wins too! God Bless!

Victoria, I read as well! I also do a variety of things to keep my hands busy while watching TV, I sort through old papers or boxes of items to find things to recycle, shred, donate or keep. Sometimes I do crafts to sell at my booth in a store. Also, I have a cat who likes to curl up (on me) on my cozy throw blanket when I’m snuggled up watching a show. It’s hard to get up on a random hungry impulse when you have a happy sleeping Zoe I’d have to disturb! LOL! I’m calling her my informal support animal! :wink:

Hello everyone,
I won 2/2 games last year but now I am even more heavier.
This self discipline doesn't work for me. I guess I eat too much when I am at home. I actually eat healthy food, but apparently too much of it. Cause I am doing sports already and a lot. I am actually a very strong person, but this is just my most weakness. I have a part-time job where I work with no access to food and it's quite easy to maintain weight and also to lose some. But as soon as it's weekend or holidays it's over.
I know it's all a mindset thing and my overeating is emotional. But it's always something happening and even though I am in therapy and I have no depression or etc seems like this is forever. I am not obese, maybe 7-10 kg overweight so I seem fine, but I just can't "crack" it it's been years

My only hope for now is to raise my ferritin (iron) level, I have recently discovered it is critically low and will work with my doctor on it. Because I was in a good shape when I was taking hormon pills and not losing so much iron, maybe there is a connection, I hope. Sorry for this moment of despair, let's have a nice weekend anyway :)

  • One of my kiddos is on antibiotics for a skin infection - so we're doing probiotics and yogurt, but also putting a huge emphasis (read: tracking) the number of unique plants we're feeding his gut! Sharing for inspiration - sorry for the bad handwriting!

Yes @Victoria - that's what we're trying to get to! And I realized i forgot to add apples to the list, so we got to 30 in 4 days! Proud moment - now to keep it up for a week or two post antibiotics! (It's easy for ME to do as the adult, it's much harder convincing my 6/7 year old ;)

Sick toddler at home and running on fumes juggling everything, but I am happy to report I am 92% to my goal! Woohoo! A big silver lining to the day and such an incredible feeling to be doing this during a month I normally gain 10lbs in. This year, I am reversing the trend. ?

    Im trying to shift my 'diet brain' which see's food as a treat/punishment to a 'normal' brain that see's food as nourishment and fuel for my body.

    That said, I sat down today to my lunch and by gosh its DULL ???

    WHATS THE WORST THING YOUVE EVER EATEN ON A HEALTH KICK?

    *I was tempted to ask you to guess what im eating! Miso and pumpkin soup with leftover spinach lentil dhal.

This morning I made a gross concoction. 1 cup Greek yogurt and a scoop of white chocolate peppermint protein powder. It was so weird tasting and horrible texture. I made myself eat it because my protein is 2$ per scoop and the protein yogurt is like 1.75$ per serving. I drank a lot of water with it. Other than that I just healthify my normal diet. Water instead of oils, protein/low carb versions of everything and less carbs and more veg. Works well for me

  • Using the Tiffany plate method to get my fiber and protein in. Yes it looks wild and yes I covered everything with tajin. Airfyer chick peas are the best snack if you have savory cravings like me.

The tiffany plate just replaces one of my meals (lunch or dinner) where I focus on getting fiber in and some protein.
