  • 🌺 Happy Monday, Aloha Crew! 🌺

We're entering the final days of the game, and today we want to talk about something bigger than weigh-ins: movement for life.

The goal isn't just to move more until June 30. The goal is to find ways to move your body that you actually enjoy and can see yourself doing for years to come.

Movement doesn't have to mean a gym membership or intense workouts. It can be:

    Walking with a friend
    Gardening
    Dancing in your kitchen
Playing with your kids or grandkids
    Hiking, swimming, biking, stretching

The best movement is the one you'll keep doing.

    💬 Let's discuss:
What's your favorite way to move your body these days? Are you moving more now than you were when the game started?

I chased my dog. She loves to grab one of her toys and run away from me in circles in the house. Very intense HIT exercise usually about 10 minutes. Sometimes twice a day. It took me a while to realize that this fun bonding experience with my pet is actually giving me the only exercise I was getting on many winter days. And really quite good exercise.

* I chase... not past tense. This is an ongoing activity.

Anyone want to talk HRT? I am generally in good health but have always struggled with good eating habits. I'm a late night snacker and as I get into my 40s I am up more at night so eating more in the middle of the night. Anyone else struggle with this? Has HRT helped? GLP-1s are all the rage right now but I don't have food noise during the day, only when I'm a zombie in the middle of the night.

That's great Sheila! Way to go. Glad we get to be with you on the remainder of your journey to your goal weight!

I used to be a snickers, especially at night. Then I started reading about Intermittent Fasting, how it affects your hormone levels and how insulin, in particular, is affected by "grazing". Im finding it helpful now that I have the knowledge. Not sure if it would work for you, but definitely worth researching.

I didn’t focus on diet and exercise this month. Hit goal weight for the round at the beginning. I did win the round with plenty of wiggle room but not much in the way of progress this month. I guess it was like being in maintenance mode.

I’m recommitting myself to be strict again. It won’t be challenging to hit the round goal but I really want to get out of obese BMI and into “overweight.

Debating a kickstarter for extra motivation but it may be hard to lose 4% in a month when I’ve been dieting/losing for several months now. Anyone else doing a kickstarter this month?

No. I can’t do those anymore cos I’ve been losing for 1.5 years and it’s slow and steady. Took me several rounds to start winning even this challenge because I don’t lose a lot at once. Wish the goal steps in these 6 month challenges were spaced out more evenly rather than expecting you lose a lot at first! Good luck to you!

Lisa P.

Thanks everyone. I am doing well - hit the next round goal unexpectedly today.

I think 4% in a month would be hard now. Lose is much slower and I go through plateaus and then slow lose. I did overlapping transformers and maybe that’s the way to go - although the first 2 months at 3% each month will be a challenge!

I’m not a member so the maintenance and longer games or lower % options for bets are not open to me.

Good luck everyone!

Meal prep is the only way I stay on track. I only do 2-3 days of meal prep at a time because I get grossed out by food older than that. I also hate food waste so meal prepping makes me eat it because I refuse to throw it out. And weighting every day. I need to see the small wins and the potential small losses

Make a plan and stick to it. The hardest part is climbing back into the wagon, once your in, you just ride it to your goal.
