feeling disheartened.
I met this all the month's goals so far, including this upcoming one, but you certainly can't tell by looking at me.
Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? As in, I should notice changes in my body rather than the scale?
I swear I only lost fat from my butt and boobs 😓

Hi Mandy, as josh said “we are our worst critic.” Today I hit my 50 lb milestone. I look in the mirror naked and I still see FAT everywhere. However, I look at pre-weight loss pictures of me and I see dramatic changes. Our bodies don’t lose fat exactly where we want them to but, the fat is coming off everywhere we just focus on those trouble spots more. I’ve always had a big ass and thighs even when I was thin, that’s where my fat likes to go. My stomach and waist (be it larger, because I’m so overweight) were never a problem. The fat I have lost came off my waist and stomach more obviously the my ass and thighs, but I know I’ve lost inches here too, because I measured my body. I just don’t see it. If you haven’t yet, measure yourself now and once a month remeasure all the areas of your body and you’ll see it’s all coming off, just more in some areas then others. You’re doing it and that’s what’s important!

If you want to change your body composition you need to lift weights. That’s how we change our shape. And as we loss weight we get extra skin and that sometimes “looks worse” because it hangs there.
Try to focus on how you feel. Do you have more energy? Can you do more without huffing and puffing. I know it can be hard but try to focus on your health rather than how you look

That looks fantastic! I cooked salmon tonight as well, but I didn't do nearly as great a job at plating and presentation as you have done.

I just cooked up some Brussels sprouts with rosemary and ate those out of a bowl with my salmon. :grin:

Weights along the way goes a long way! As well as the type of food your eating. My friend and I both lost 100+lbs and she has much more loss skin than I do. I have very minimal and I’ve had 2 kids, she hasn’t had any.
I believe that because of what we ate and I worked out which includes weights and she didn’t work out.

  • Non-scale victory - it is small, but I feel like reinforcing the behavior:

    We get a lot of free food at work (usually sweets). Today was Chipotle (giant burritos). Think 800 calories. There was a tofu & beans one specially ordered for me! I said thank you and ate HALF.

This morning I started a new routine and the goal is to add more time and weights to it. I went for a 20 minute walk, did 6 minute Denise Austin yoga video and 25 squats. Food plan is good and I made weight for last years transformer! Lost 10 pounds since Christmas too! ♥♥

  • Salad with ginger dressing and side of carrots with non fat Greek yogurt dip. I did add chicken for protein after I took the picture. I’m also tracking my Apple Watch stats in my planner for added accountability!
