  • Just thought I would share something that I’ve been thinking about lately.

    When I started this DietBet I thought it would try something different. When it comes to losing weight I have often felt it was a struggle, I would have really intense cravings and poor self control and struggled feeling full. This time my cravings are easier and at the end of the day I feel full and content. The major thing I changed? I stopped meal prepping. I know it works for a lot of people but I often turn to ordering in because the food in my fridge doesn’t excite or tempt me after a day or two. But a freshly cooked dinner and getting to play around and experiment in the kitchen while choosing to focus on healthy but non restrictive dinners has been life changing. I’ve cooked a fresh dinner almost every day! I’ve also stopped being afraid of carbs!

    In a way it feels like I’m only on a diet when I’m at work where I still do full meal replacements breakfast and lunch. When I get home I eat what i’m carving that day, and that flexibility and ability to give in to my food craving has been amazing. Today all I wanted was Thai cashew chicken, after work I dropped by a local Asian food market to get a couple of things I was missing and made it happen! Currently feeling very satisfied and full!

    This morning I’m down 15 kg (33 lbs) since January!

    •Breakfast: Cappuccino Protein w/ coffee
    Mid-Morning Snack: Confetti Protein Pancakes with Sugar-Free syrup
    •Lunch: Creamy Chicken Casserole over broccoli and clementines
    •Afternoon Snack: Hummus, Veggies, Baby Bell Cheeze, Turkey Peoperoni, Strawberries, and Grapes Bento Box.
    •Dinner: Cooked fresh each night with a few leftover nights built in for our kids’ activity nights.

    I started this journey on December 25th and hit 25 lbs down this morning.

A friend inspired me to try Bollywood dance. And I am seeing great shifts both in my inches and mood! I have joined a 7 weeks Bollywood dance class, just to try something new.

I re- started today my exact meal planning for the next day. Just did it for tomorrow. This helps me to stay consistent. And I will do dinner- cancelling (in fact, it's intermittent fasting) again.
Both not really new but it's a restart after having been a little too 'relaxed' for some weeks.
Something really new, I'll start tomorrow is meditating with a meditation app. Today, I loaded it on my phone.

Well I didn’t make it not super surprised as I wasn’t very good mid month because of birthday and Valentine’s Day. But I did lose a little, my pants are looser and I learned that my body wants me to eat twice a day. I just wasn’t hungry and I was only eating once a day and I wasn’t losing even with fewer calories for the day. But with two smaller meals I did better but didn’t figure this out until a few days ago. Enjoy my share of the winnings!! I’ve got this for next month.

I didn’t quite make it. First time I’ve ever not made a weigh in. Lost by a little over 2lbs. This month was a hard month. Gotta work harder on my nutrition this month.

Ami28. No im pretty sure you don’t have to weight in if you didn’t make it. I just did just to have that documentation.

  • The superbowl evening was a great success for me and hubby. I carefully planned our our menu and today I was down .2. Okay- I know that’s not much but it was a drop instead of a gain - this is huge for me.

    Menu: vegetable platter, Mexican shrimp cocktail, baked chicken tacos with 25 calorie tortillas and baked chicken wings for hubby and baked breast nuggets for me.

    We enjoyed all the munchies- no alcohol and had a great evening.

After weighing in on Jan 31st, I went off my diet for four days. No total craziness, but definitely no diet. I gained (mostly water weight) about 2kg. After having been back on track now for a week, I'm finally back to my weigh-in weight. So instead of making some progress for 11 days, I'm right where I was 11 days ago. Luckily I had done good progress on this round already, but it's annoying. Perhaps it'll teach me something, but I doubt it... 😁

I haven't done a transformer before but I expect the 1st 2 months are the hardest so I guess we'll lose a few more this month but then it'll stay pretty steady? After round 2 we don't need to lose as much

I've done two transformers before. First was when I was at my highest ever weight in 2017 and I crushed every round. Second one I think 2 years ago, I was at a lower weight so the end goal was harder, I wasn't as dedicated, and that time I think I won the first couple of months but that was it. It's harder to keep focus for months on end, especially diets that are hard to follow, usually too restrictive or getting in the way of your social life. So I anticipate fewer winners each round but only time will tell...
