I’m pretty motivated most of the time but when I’m not feeling it for whatever reason- I think about what I’ve done so far and how important it is to me not to give in or give up like I usually do. Then I pull up my big girl pants and follow through on my plans for the day. So far I haven’t just thrown in the towel and gone ballistic on a large pizza or anything :joy:

Yes!! Exactly how I felt too! Not in the mood, feeling like I’ve been working so hard for 2 months and I just didn’t want to do it anymore. Instead, I jumped on the treadmill and afterwards I felt so good- proud I didn’t give in.

  • Do you meal prep? Ingredient prep? Wing it?
    I plan my breakfast/lunch/snacks and eat the same thing for my work week.
    Dinners are family meals and I'll make necessary swaps.
    Tonight is nachos. I am using Quest chips, and I'll add something else to my plate like veggies and bolthouse ranch. Tuesday is Pho and I'll use zoodles instead of noodles. Monday and Wednesday are busy days so we will do easy lunchable style meals. And Thursday is grilled cheese and tomato soup-I'm choosing to have a light progresso soup with added chicken.

I am so burned out on cooking after doing it since i was like 10 years old, I now hate it. So yeah I just eat some veggies, some lean meats and call it a day. Nothing fancy.
I often order steamed chicken and broccoli from a local Chinese place. I don't eat the rice. Maybe put a small spoonful of the sauce they put on the side. Or i eat raw spinach salad with grilled chicken strips(that I buy precooked!). The less I have to think about food or cooking, the better

One week in and seeing a little progress on the scale. As ref Stacy posted, weekends are my nemesis. I don’t drink but we do eat out more when my bf is over. I don’t want to sabotage my loss and have setbacks. So we will move more in the nice weather and I’ll aim for good choices.

I wanted to share a non-scale victory I’ve just experienced.

After walking our dog this morning, we stopped at a local mini-supermarket. I was thinking about something semi-healthy, like a cheesy omelette as a treat.

But I’ve been making many changes to my lifestyle recently, including trying to start every meal with a small salad or green vegetable dish. So, I picked up some celery, cucumber, and carrots for that starter. Then I saw the portobello mushrooms and thought that the celery would go great with some humous, so I picked up the mushrooms and some ready-made humous after checking the ingredients weren’t too bad. I also noticed a delicious, healthy, lentil & couscous salad and thought that might make for a nice stuffed mushroom so I added that to my basket too. Oh, and some olives marinated in garlic. And sure, I still picked up a little cheese and some coleslaw too.

I left the shop more excited about my lunch than when I went in, but I’m having a more varied meal with more plants instead of a cheesy omelette.

In the past, my best healthy plans would be hijacked by impulse on a visit to the shops like this. Today, my less healthy plans were hijacked instead. It’s like the healthy part of me is taking the lead now. And I like it.

Ugh. I joined 3 games on Sunday and I had already been on a losing streak when I weighed in, but the next day my weight immediately jumped back up 2 lbs! So now I feel like I am having to lose even more than 4%!! It hasn't budged in 4 days. I've been staying consistent, but yeesh, this is frustrating.

It's best to weigh yourself early in the morning before you eat or drink. And with the same clothes/no clothes. Other than that, it might just be water retention. Don't panic.

  • Hi everyone! I'm completing this game from Fayetteville, NC. I used DietBet last year and was able to lose a good amount of weight. Then I got pregnant with my first child. :)

    Now I am 7 weeks postpartum, cleared for exercise, and ready to get the rest of this baby weight off!

    My plan is to start incorporating exercise at least three days a week and making better eating choices.

Go Dori!! You’re going to do a great job! I’ve been walking every morning and it was hard at first but now I love it! I try to do about 2 miles, it takes me almost an hour but it’s still something!

I belong to a gym, too! Does your have fitness classes? I love to go to the classes because they also focus on mobility exercises which makes it to where I can run and jump with my 8, 7, and 5 year old.
